Marcos Jr. on being President: “It’s hard to have a complete hours of sleep”

Pres. Marcos Jr. Speaks on Things He Can No Longer Enjoy as Chief Executive

MARCOS JR. – The President spoke on being “sleepless” now that he is the leader of the country but considers self as “the luckiest person”.

The president has to deal with so many things, thus, a hectic schedule is not strange with regards to whoever is the chief executive of the country. Currently, the Philippines is led by another Marcos — Pres. Bongbong Marcos who is a namesake of his late father.

The presidency of PBBM came decades after his late father, former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., was ousted from the presidency in 1986. He is the longest-serving president of the country but his regime was controversial. Recently, Marcos Jr. claimed that he really did not want to enter politics then when he was young. According to him, he just wants to live a quiet life then.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos revealed that he went into a business school as he was not into politics then. According to him, Marcos Sr. and former First Lady Imelda Marcos were disappointed over his lack of interest towards politics. He is the only son of the former President.

Marcos Jr. stressed that life is really unpredictable and he ended up in politics. Meanwhile, he clarified that he has no regrets about it. Based on a report on PhilStar, he even consider himself as the luckiest person he knows because of his parents and his experiences.

“I still consider myself the luckiest person I know. I do not know anyone as lucky as I am because my father was like that, my mother was like that. All of your experiences, even if you did not enjoy some of them, will bring you lessons,” the President said.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos stressed that he would not want to be born on another family. He also stressed that watching his father in the presidency for 20 years taught him that he must learn to manage things. Based on the report, the President also revealed that when he won the position, he did not want to rest as there are a lot of things that need to be done but he later on managed to take quick breaks.

When asked about the things he can no longer enjoy after he became president of the country, Marcos Jr. answered: “Sleep.” According to him, it is hard for him to complete his sleeping hours because of the many things to be done.

“It’s hard to have a complete hours of sleep. Sometimes you finish late and even if you finish late, you still have to do a few things. You need to read something so you will be ready for the next day,” he said.

Based on the report, with regards to his “breaks” to avoid exhaustion, Pres. Bongbong Marcos clarified that he does not mean a two-month vacation. According to him, what he does takes only a few hours like listening to music or sharing stories with his kids.

While he came from a political family, the President wants an Anti-Political Dynasty measure to be passed in the Congress. Recently, his son, Ilocos Norte Congressman Sandro Marcos, filed the Anti-Political Dynasty Bill in the House of Representatives.
