Lito Lapid Breaks Silence: “Tao lang ako, nasasaktan din” Amid Harsh Criticism

Lito Lapid Gets Real About Public Insults

LITO LAPID – Senator Lito Lapid opened up about the emotional toll of constant insults questioning his intelligence and capability, admitting, “Tao lang ako, minsas nasasaktan din.”

Senator Lito Lapid admitted that he still gets deeply affected whenever people belittle his abilities and make jokes about his work as a public servant. Despite decades in both show business and politics, the veteran actor–turned–senator said there are still individuals who continue to throw insults at him and question why he consistently wins every time he runs for public office.

During a Thanksgiving and early Christmas gathering he hosted for members of the entertainment press, Sen. Lapid was asked whether social media criticisms still bother him. The action star, known for his iconic roles in classic movies, confessed that he remains hurt by the negative comments he encounters both online and in person.

According to him, he cannot entirely blame people who mock him for his shortcomings because he did not finish school.

He added that belittling him comes easy for critics: “Kung kantiyawan nila si Lito Lapid ganu’n-ganu’n na lang.

Lapid explained that from the moment he entered show business, he had always been open to the public about his humble beginnings. He never imagined that he would eventually become a government official.

Because of the insults he has faced throughout his career—especially those questioning his competence—Lapid said he constantly reminds his children of the importance of education. Mag-aral kayo. Ayokong mainsulto kayo, tulad ng nararanasan ko ngayon,” he said.
