Kylie Padilla Gets Candid About Co-Parenting
KYLIE PADILLA – Kapuso actress Kylie Padilla did not hold back as she openly revealed that Aljur Abrenica takes on only 20% of their co-parenting responsibilities.
Kapuso actress Kylie Padilla candidly shared details about her co-parenting arrangement with estranged husband Aljur Abrenica, revealing the percentage of responsibility each of them carries in raising their children. The topic came up during a recent episode of the program “Your Honor,” where the definition and realities of co-parenting were discussed openly.
During the conversation, “Your Honor” host Chariz Solomon gave her perspective on the concept, saying, “Co-parenting, sa pagkakaintindi ko, 100-100 [ang bigayan]. Hindi hati. Give your best, I give my best. You be a parent—physically, mentally, emotinally, lahat ng ‘ly’.”
Kylie then offered her personal experience, asking, “E, pa’no kung 80% ikaw ‘yong parent?” before adding, “Ako ‘yong 80%, siya 20 lang.”
She further clarified the situation by explaining, “Co-parenting pa rin kami, what I mean to say is, sa akin ‘yong kids 80% of the time. Pero financial, 80% ako rin. So co-parenting pa rin naman ‘yon.” Her statements highlighted that while co-parenting ideally involves equal participation, real-life arrangements can look very different depending on circumstances.
Aljur previously faced criticism from netizens in August 2023 after allegations surfaced that he had prioritised his relationship with AJ Raval over his child, who was celebrating a birthday at the time. The issue sparked online backlash and reignited public scrutiny of their family dynamics.
At present, however, tensions appear to have eased among Kylie, Aljur, and AJ. Kylie recently shared in a post that she was happy she no longer had to hide two people, suggesting a more peaceful and transparent situation. This came after AJ admitted on an episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” that she and Aljur already have three children together.
It can be recalled that in July 2021, the showbiz world was shocked by the separation of Kylie and Aljur. Speculation later arose that a third party caused the breakup after Aljur and AJ were seen holding hands at a mall. Kylie eventually clarified that AJ had nothing to do with the breakdown of her marriage, following intense criticism and accusations labelling the Vivamax star as a “kabit” and “third party.”
