Former Sen. Bong Revilla Denies Flood Control Allegations
BONG REVILLA – The former Senator asked the public for prayers after the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) suggested the filing of flood control case against him.
Several officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and congressmen were implicated in the flood control mess. Some senators as well as former lawmakers in the Senate were also tagged in the supposed flood control corruption in the country. It brought thousands of people in the streets to call for an end to corruption.

The so-called “Trillion Peso March” was held last September 21 and November 30. Thousands of people joined the rallies held in different cities and provinces across the nation. Amid the issue, President Bongbong Marcos ordered an independent body to be formed for the flood control investigation.

The Independent Commission for Infrastructure or ICI was formed. It is an independent probe team formed upon the order of Marcos Jr. and it has the power to issue a subpoena and move for the seizure of assets linked to anomalies. It is led by ICI chairman Andres Reyes Jr.
The ICI is a three-member body with Rossana Fajardo and former DPWH chief Andres Reyes Jr. as its members. It has invited several government officials tagged in the flood control mess to its probe. The ICI also initially recommended the filing of charges against senators Jinggoy Estrada and Joel Villanueva as well as Zaldy Co among others.

Amid the questions surrounding the ICI which was created upon an executive order, Pres. Bongbong Marcos stressed that he will take the flood control to conviction. Former Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla also reiterated the Marcos Jr. administration’s commitment for accountability.
Recently, the ICI also recommended the filing of flood control charges against former Sen. Bong Revilla. The commission listed the following names in its latest endorsement:
- Ramon Revilla Jr.
- Maynard Ngu
- Carleen Villa
- Gerard Opulencia
- Manny Bulusan
- Roel Umali
- Gene Ryan Altea
- J.Y. Dela Rosa
- “Mrs. Patron”
- Carlo Aguilar
“Ang posibleng mga kaso ay direct or indirect bribery at corruption of public officials, plunder, and administrative sanctions, amongst others,” ICI chairman Andres Reyes said.

Recently, following the ICI suggesting the filing of flood control charges against him, former Sen. Bong Revilla asked for prayers for him and his family. In another post, the former Senator also claimed that his name is allegedly being used to supposedly divert the investigation from the truth. Meanwhile, he believes that the truth will come out.

Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos reiterated his claim that they know what to do in solving the flood control corruption issue.
