Dela Rosa is no show at the Senate sessions since the break was over. His non-appearance in public came shortly after Ombudsman Boying Remulla claimed that the foreign court has allegedly issued an arrest warrant against the Senator who was the first Philippine National Police (PNP) chief during the previous admin.

Neither the ICC nor the DOJ confirmed the claim of Remulla then. The Ombudsman stood by his claim saying that he allegedly has a copy of the supposed ICC arrest warrant against Sen. Bato dela Rosa in his phone. According to him then, the other agencies have yet to receive a copy but it does not invalidate his claim.

“We are monitoring him. Alam namin kung nasaan siya. At hintayin lang namin kung may utos talaga ang korte o wala,” the DILG Chief said.

Interior Sec. Jonvic Remulla also claimed that Sen. Bato dela Rosa allegedly keeps on transferring from one house to another and he is supposedly kept by his friends. Furthermore, based on the report, the DILG Secretary also claimed that the Senator is using different vehicles.

“Palipat-lipat siya ng mga bahay. Sa mga kaibigan niya, tinatago siya. Tapos sa loob lang siya ng bahay. Kapag lilipat siya, iba-ibang kotse ang ginagamit,” Remulla said.

The DILG Secretary said the authorities don’t consider Dela Rosa a “fugitive” yet as they have yet to receive an official arrest warrant. Amid the issue, former Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno claimed that Sen. Bato dela Rosa can allegedly take all the drug war blame to free Duterte.
