Lawyer of Sen. Bato dela Rosa Posts Photos w/ Lawmaker
BATO DELA ROSA – Lawyer Israelito Torreon met with the senator amid the former Philippine National Police Chief’s supposed hiding over the alleged arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against him.
Sen. dela Rosa is no show in the public since Ombudsman Boying Remulla claimed that the ICC has allegedly released an arrest warrant against the Senator. Then, amid the non-confirmation of the ICC and the Department of Justice, Remulla claimed that he supposedly has a copy of the said arrest warrant.
Since the Ombudsman’s claim, Sen. Bato dela Rosa skipped the Senate sessions but he still receives his salary as confirmed by Senate President Tito Sotto. The Senate Chief and Senate Finance Committee Sherwin Gatchalian claimed that the “no work, no pay” rule does not apply to senators.
Dela Rosa was absent in all the Senate sessions since November 11 when the chamber returned from its break. Following the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte last March 11, the Senator was vocal that he is allegedly the next person that the foreign court wants to arrest and investigate.
Sen. Bato dela Rosa was the first chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) during the tenure of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. Previously, his lawyer, Atty. Israelito Torreon, claimed that the Senator is allegedly not hiding but may only make himself available after the government has clarified its course of actions.
The lawyer of Sen. Dela Rosa previously claimed that the Senator has allegedly stop responding to his messages. According to Atty. Torreon, he also cannot confirm if the Senator has communication with his family but he is coordinating with the Senator’s family who asked him to do everything for his defense.
Recently, on social media, Atty. Israelito Torreon posted photos of him with Sen. Bato dela Rosa. The location was not mentioned but his post came with a message for the Senator telling him to always be careful as he is still allegedly being looked for.
“Senator, laban lang tayo para sa bayan natin ito. Hinahunting ka pa rin Senator, ingat palagi ha,” the lawyer stated.
Previously, amid his supposed hiding due to a reported ICC arrest warrant, Sen. Bato dela Rosa expressed his joy of seeing his grandchild as he shared a photo on social media.
