Sen. Bato dela Rosa Makes Presence Felt on Social Media
BATO DELA ROSA – The former Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief turned Senator is happy to see his grandchild amid his supposed hiding due to the reported International Criminal Court (ICC) warrant of arrest against him.
Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla previously claimed that he allegedly has a copy of the ICC arrest warrant against Sen. Dela Rosa. According to him then, the other agencies have yet to receive the copy but the ICC nor the Department of Justice (DOJ) not confirming his claim supposedly does not invalidate it.

Recently, the former spokesman of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Harry Roque, claimed that the DOJ and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) have allegedly received the copy of the ICC arrest warrant against Sen. Bato dela Rosa. According to him, the document was supposedly released long time ago but it was only recently when the Philippine government agencies were issued their copies.

Roque advised Sen. Dela Rosa to seek sanctuary in the Supreme Court. He also called on the Senator to not allow to be brought abroad like what happened to former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The former Chief Executive remains detained under the custody of the ICC since March.
Last March 11, Duterte was arrested by the Philippine authorities who assisted the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol). On the same day of his arrest, he was flown out of the country for the transfer of his custody to the ICC in The Hague, Netherlands.

Sen. Bato dela Rosa was the first chief of the national police during the term of Duterte. He admitted his belief multiple times that he is allegedly the next person that the foreign court wants to arrest for the Duterte drug war investigation.
Following the claim of the Ombudsman, Sen. dela Rosa was no show in the Senate sessions. According to Senate Pres. Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, Dela Rosa was absent since November 11 when the chamber resumed from its break.

Senate Pres. Tito Sotto confirmed that Sen. Bato dela Rosa still gets his salary as senator despite his long absence. According to Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian, senators are not covered by the “no work, no pay” rules.
Recently, amid his supposed hiding after a reported ICC arrest warrant against him, Sen. Bato dela Rosa made his presence felt on social media. He posted a photo of himself carrying his grandchild.
“Happy to see you my apo,” Sen. dela Rosa stated in his post.

Amid his supposed hiding, the lawyer of Sen. Bato dela Rosa claimed that he has allegedly stopped responding to his messages and they have no communication since a month ago.
