Former House Speaker Zaldy Co Speaks Against Marcos Jr., Romualdez amid the Flood Control Corruption Accusations
ZALDY CO – The former Ako Bicol Partylist Representative claimed that then-House Speaker Martin Romualdez allegedly warned to shoot him if he will talk.
Amid the public call for accountability over the supposed massive corruption in the Philippine government, Co released a series of videos on social media wherein he spoke his side over the matter. The former House member has yet to return to the country amid the multi-billion flood control corruption allegations against him.

Zaldy Co accused President Bongbong Marcos and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez of allegedly inserting P100 billion in the 2025 budget. According to the resigned Ako Bicol Partylist Representative, he confirmed the supposed budget insertion to Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah Pangandaman and Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.

Furthermore, Co also claimed that he was allegedly set to return to the Philippines after the 4th SONA (State of the Nation Address) of Marcos Jr. However, according to him, he was supposedly ordered to stay out of the country.
Based on his latest claims, Zaldy Co also claimed that former Speaker Martin Romualdez allegedly warned him over the phone not to return to the Philippines or they might hire someone or the police to kill him. According to him, he was supposedly promised to be taken cared of.
“Don’t come home, we will take care of you,” he said.

Moreover, Zaldy Co also claimed that he was allegedly warned by former House Speaker Martin Romualdez that he will shoot him if he will talk. According to him, the warning came even before he left the country in July.
“March 2025 pa lang, si Speaker ay nagpaparinig na sa aming meeting na he will shoot me if I will talk,” the resigned Ako Bicol Partylist Representative said.
Zaldy Co also debunked the claims of the witnesses to the Independent Commission for Infrastructure or ICI. Based on the post, the resigned Ako Bicol Partylist Representative said it is not true as the amount is allegedly P56 billion and the kickbacks supposedly went to Pres. Bongbong Marcos and former Speaker Martin Romualdez.
“Ang sinasabi nilang halaga sa ICI (Independent Commission on Infrastructure) ay P21 billion. Hindi po totoo ’yan. Ang totoong numero ay P56 billion at ang halagang ’yan ay kay Pangulong Bongbong Marcos at Martin Romualdez napunta lahat,” he said.
Previously, Marcos Jr. was asked if he thinks that Zaldy Co is the most guilty in the flood control corruption in the Philippines.
