Amid the Corruption Accusations vs. Marcos Jr., Zaldy Co Reveals Alleged Budget Insertions of Cong. Sandro Marcos
ZALDY CO – The resigned Ako Bicol Partylist Representative took to social media the alleged budget insertions of presidential son and Ilocos Norte Congressman Sandro Marcos.
Several government officials were implicated in the flood control mess and Co, then representing Ako Bicol Partylist in the House of Representatives, was one of them. Contractor couple Curlee and Sarah Discaya accused him of allegedly receiving “kickback” from the flood control projects awarded to their companies.
The Discayas made the same accusation against the House Speaker then. Amid the flood control corruption accusations, presidential cousin and Leyte Congressman Martin Romualdez resigned from being the House Speaker. However, with regards to Zaldy Co, he was already outside the Philippines when the accusation broke out.
Amid the calls for Co to return to the Philippines and face the accusations against him along with his revoked Travel Clearance, he resigned from being a House member. He refused to return to the country citing concerns over his safety.
Recently, countless Filipinos were surprised when Zaldy Co accused Pres. Bongbong Marcos and former Speaker Martin Romualdez of allegedly inserting a P100-billion budget appropriation in the 2025 national budget. Furthermore, he also claimed that the President and the former Speaker allegedly got all theP56 billion kickback.
Co posted on social media photos showing the suitcases which allegedly carried the billions of money supposedly delivered for Marcos Jr. and Romualdez. Malacañang debunked his claims saying that Co allegedly wants the investigation to stop so he tagged the President in the corruption issue.
Recently, Zaldy Co made another accusation on social media but this time it is against presidential son and Ilocos Norte Cong. Sandro Marcos. According to the resigned House member, the presidential Son has allegedly inserted over P50 billion in just three (3) years.
“Ito naman po ang listahan ng mga insertions ni Cong. Sandro Marcos para sa 2025 GAA. Kung mapapansin niyo ay taon-taon, padami nang padami ang insertions niya tuwing Bicam. Ang total ng kanyang insertions sa loob ng tatlong (3) taon ay mahigit P50 Billion,” Co wrote.
Based on the post, the alleged budget insertions of Ilocos Norte Cong. Sandro Marcos as per Zaldy Co includes the fund for the construction of flood control structures in Ilocos Norte and Leyte. Most of the proposed projects are allegedly flood control structures.
The presidential Son has yet to react on the claims of Co against him. Previously, Cong. Sandro Marcos reacted to the accusations of his own aunt, Senator Imee Marcos, against Pres. Bongbong Marcos and their family.
