Posts about Young Mother Killed by Flood in Negros Go Viral
A young mother in Negros province just handed her baby to the rescuers before she was swept away by flood due to Typhoon Tino.
Typhoon Tino’s death toll has reached 140. Some 127 individuals are still missing and the rescuers continue to search for them. Cebu is the most devastated by the typhoon but some parts in the province of Negros was also hit hard by the calamity and many people lost their lives.

#TinoPH brought massive rains and strong winds that triggered flash flood. In Cebu, many residents had to climb the roof of their houses most especially those who are living in single-storey houses to evade the floodwater which has reached the roof. The strong wind also torn countless houses leaving many families homeless.

In Negros, some cities and municipalities also experienced deep and unexpected extended of flooding. Some residents in the towns of Canlaon, La Castellana, and Moises Padilla were shocked by the sudden flash flood that struck their place. The fatalities recorded in the area were due to drowning because of the flood.
One of those who died in Canlaon City due to the flash flood caused by Typhoon Tino was Frances Angela Garilao-Pecson, a young mother who was carrying her two-month old baby when the waters began to rise. Based on viral posts on social media, she was able to give her baby to the rescuers before the flood swept her away.

Based on a post on social media, the dead body of the young mother who was able to do a heroic act for her baby before she was pulled by the floodwater to death was found during the second day of the organized Search, Rescue, and Retrieval operations in Barangay Malaiba, Mabigo, and Panubigan in Canlaon City. Three (3) dead bodies were found and one of them was Angela’s.
The death of the young mother who just got married a year ago broke countless hearts on social media. Many of the people who knows her were shocked and saddened when they found out about her death and that it was actually her baby who needed milk based on other viral posts.
Following the wrath of the typhoon, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. declared a national state of calamity due to Typhoon Tino and the upcoming typhoon eyed to have the possibility of becoming a super typhoon. The tropical storm is set to be named “Uwan”.
