RODRIGO DUTERTE’S NET WORTH – The wealth of the former President reportedly grew by P13.225 million during his six-year term as president.
Recently, several officials of the government bared their Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth or SALN amid the massive corruption issued in the Philippines. All 24 senators this 2025 have released copies of their SALN following the call of Ombudsman Boying Remulla.
The Ombudsman called on the lawmakers to voluntarily release their SALN to the public after he lifted the restrictions on the public access towards the SALN of the government officials that are within its repository. Several senators immediately heed the call of the country’s chief graft-buster.
The Office of the Ombudsman is the repository of the SALN of the president, the vice president, and the officials of the local government and the Constitutional Commissions. Previously, during the tenure of former Ombudsman Samuel Martires, the consent of the SALN owner was required in the release of the document.
Aside from the senators, several congressmen also released copies of their SALN for the public access. Recently, The Star also obtained details about the SALN of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte from the Office of the Ombudsman.
Based on a report, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s net worth was at P37.305 million when his term as president ended in 2022. Based on his SALN, Duterte had a net worth of P24.080 million in August 2016, nearly two (2) months since he assumed the presidency. Then, his assets included the following:
- a Volks Sedan acquired in 1978 — worth P40,000
- a Toyota Rav 4 acquired in 1996 — worth P800,000
- cash on hand and in bank — P15.305 million
- household appliances and furniture — worth P350,000
- jewelry — worth P300,000
- investments — P3.9 million
Based on the report, six (6) months after, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s net worth increased by P3 million to P27.428 million. After a year, the wealth of the former President reached P28.540 million with the rise on his cash on hand and bank savings.
In 2018, the former President’s net worth stood at P31.062 million. A year after it, it reached P33.657 million. During his last full year in service as the president of the country, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s net worth was at P38.744 million.
Currently, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte is detained under the custody of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands since March. Previously, the ICC released its decision on the interim release plea of former Pres. Duterte.
