Sen. Rodante Marcoleta Speaks at INC Rally about Orly Guteza
RODANTE MARCOLETA – The Senator called Orly Guteza as the “most credible witness ever” after Zaldy Co confirmed the claim of the ex-marine.
The Senate conducted a separate flood control investigation amid the corruption issues in the Philippines. The investigation is led by the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee which is currently led by Senate President Pro Tempore Ping Lacson.
The Senate Blue Ribbon panel has just resumed its flood control hearings last November 14. There was no flood control hearing for a few weeks after Lacson resigned citing the remarks of his fellow senators on the path that the probe is taking. He was re-elected and previously expressed a desire to invite Orly Guteza to return to the upper chamber.
Orly Guteza is a former marine who claimed that he was allegedly part of the team that delivered suitcases filled with money to the residences of Zaldy Co and former Speaker Martin Romualdez. He was presented by Sen. Rodante Marcoleta during the Senate flood control probe and was tagged as the “surprise witness”.
Lacson previously claimed that he himself was allegedly not informed about the appearance of Guteza. The ex-marine claimed that he is allegedly a former staff of Co.
However, prior to the resumption of the Senate flood control hearing, Senate President Pro Tempore Ping Lacson claimed that Orly Guteza, the surprise witness of Sen. Rodante Marcoleta, could not be found. The Philippine Navy also claimed that Guteza is not under the marines’ protection.
Recently, in one of the videos he posted, Zaldy Co confirmed the claims of Orly Guteza that he was allegedly part of the team that delivered suitcases filled with millions of cash to the residence of former Speaker Martin Romualdez and Malacañang. Co tagged Romualdez and Pres. Bongbong Marcos to the corruption issue.
Currently, Iglesia ni Cristo is having an action protest amid the corruption issue in the Philippines. Based on a post of News5 on social media, at the rally, Sen. Rodante Marcoleta called Orly Guteza as the “most credible witness ever”.
“Siya lamang ang tumukoy at kumonekta sa pagitan ni Zaldy Co at dating Speaker Romualdez,” Marcoleta said.
Furthermore, based on the post, Sen. Rodante Marcoleta stressed that the attention then was allegedly on the fake notary on the affidavit of Orly Guteza. Then, the lawyer whose name and signature appeared on the document denied signing it.
“Ang pinagtuunang pansin ay diumano’y pekeng notaryo. Paano mapepeke ang notaryo? Tayong lahat ay saksi sa umiiral na mga pangyayari sa pagnonotaryo,” the Minority Senator said.
Recently, Malacañang reacted to the claims of Zaldy Co that tagged Pres. Bongbong Marcos and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez to the corruption issue in the country.
