Finance Sec. Ralph Recto Appointed as Executive Secretary of Marcos Jr.
RALPH RECTO – The newly-appointed Executive Secretary is set to take his oath today following the resignation of former E.S. Lucas Bersamin.
Amid the calls for him to return to the Philippines and face the flood control corruption accusations against him, Zaldy Co tagged President Bongbong Marcos and former Speaker Martin Romualdez in the corruption mess. According to the former member of the House of Representatives, the President and the then-House Speaker allegedly ordered a P100 billion budget insertion in the 2025 budget.

Co further claimed that he allegedly confirmed the supposed order with then-Executive Sec. Lucas Bersamin and then-Budget Sec. Amenah Pangandaman. According to him, they allegedly confirmed it and he also confirmed it with the then-House Speaker.

Following the accusations of Zaldy Co against Marcos Jr. and Romualdez wherein both the Executive Secretary and the Secretary of the Department of Budget and Management, both Bersamin and Pangandaman resigned from their respective posts.
Recently, Finance Sec. Ralph Recto was appointed as the new executive secretary of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Recto, a former senator, is set to take his oath today as the new E.S.

Amid the issues in the government now, Finance Sec. Ralph Recto believes that the Marcos administration is stable. Based on the report, he also vowed to speed up the government’s movements and boost the quality of education in the country.
“Political noise lang lahat ‘yan. As far as we’re concerned, we will improve governance. Pabibilisin natin yung takbo ng gobyerno. Mas mapaganda ang health services ng ating pamahalaan. Pagdating sa edukasyon yung mas kalidad na edukasyon, pabilisin yung construction ng school buildings, yung pagha-hire ng mga teacher, training ng teacher, yan ang gagawin natin, yan ang pabibilisin natin,” Recto said.
Based on the report, on the claim of Senate President Pro Tempore Ping Lacson that Marcos Jr. is allegedly unaware of the P100 billion budget insertion that matched the claim of Zaldy Co, Finance Sec. Ralph Recto said that the President is too kind and focused in his work. According to him, the Cabinet’s trust remains with the Chief Executive.

“Masyadong mabait ang Pangulo, focused din sa trabaho sa totoo lang,” the incoming Executive Secretary said.
Amid the issue, Malacañang said that Pres. Bongbong Marcos is not considering resignation as an option despite the accustaions of Sen. Imee Marcos. The Senator recently accused him of allegedly using illegal drugs.
