Sen. Ping Lacson Speaks on Reported ICC Arrest Warrant vs. Sen. Bato dela Rosa
PING LACSON – The Senate President Pro Tempore joked that he will teach Sen. Bato dela Rosa how to hide if he decides to hide amid the reported arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Amid the ICC and the Department of Justice (DOJ) not confirming if there is really an arrest warrant issued against Sen. Bato dela Rosa, Ombudsman Boying Remulla claimed that he allegedly has a copy of the arrest warrant against Dela Rosa. The country’s chief graft-buster made the claim on weekends that the foreign court ordered the arrest of the Senator.

Dela Rosa was the first chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) during the Duterte administration. Amid the reports, his camp claimed that they have yet to verify if there is really an ICC arrest warrant against the Senator. The former PNP Chief was vocal about his belief that the foreign court will be after him following the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

Duterte remains under the custody of the ICC in The Hague, Netherlands since March. Following the claim of the Ombudsman that an arrest warrant was allegedly issued by the ICC, Dela Rosa was no show to the Senate plenary session last night.
Recently, Sen. Ping Lacson spoke on Sen. Bato dela Rosa amid a reported ICC arrest warrant against him. Based on a report on GMA News, the Senate President Pro Tempore hopes that he can talk to Dela Rosa to give him some legal advice and about facing criminal charges. Both senators are former PNP chiefs.

“I think he knows it naman eh kasi galing siya sa PNP. But my own personal experience or experiences gusto ko ibahagi sa kanya, not for anything but within the bounds of the law and rules ng International Criminal Court,” Lacson said.

Based on the report, when asked about the possibility that Sen. Bato dela Rosa is hiding, Senate President Pro Tempore Ping Lacson joked that he will teach his fellow senator how to hide if he has decided of hiding. He stressed that it is really the choice of Dela Rosa.
“Hindi pa naman siya naka-decide kung magtatago eh. Kung mag-decide siya magtago edi tuturuan ko siya paano magtago. Joke lang. Anyway, that’s for law enforcement authorities to look into. It’s his choice,” he said.
Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also spoke on Sen. Bato dela Rosa amid a reported ICC arrest warrant.
