Statement of Marcos Jr. for OFWs Across the Globe
MARCOS JR. – The President vowed that the Philippine government is there for the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) during the 2025 Bagong Bayani Awards.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos and First Lady Liza Marcos recently graced the 2025 Bagong Bayani Awards which was held to honor the migrant workers. At the event, the President even joked on his wife over her alleged frequent trips to Europe to assist the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration or OWWA.

At the event, Pres. Bongbong Marcos joked that First Lady Liza Marcos is part of the “Cabinet shakeup” as she will be the new ambassador of the migrant workers. According to the Chief Executive, the First Lady usually flies to Europe for the activities of OWWA.

In his speech at the 2025 Bagong Bayani Awards, Marcos Jr. expressed recognition on the hardwork and excellent of the overseas Filipino workers. According to him, they are the most beautiful picture of the diligence and excellence of the Filipino people.
“We still see the immense value that migrant workers have brought to their families and to our country. I am proud of all the achievements that you have made,” the President said.
At the event, Marcos Jr. also assured the OFWs that the Philippine government is here for them. Based on a report on GMA News, he vowed that every migrant worker will be treated as a hero.
”Kaya bilang suporta, asahan ninyo na nandito lang ang inyong pamahalaan… Through the Department of Migrant Workers, we shall continue to elevate protection, streamline services, and ensure that every OFW is treated as the hero that they are,” he expressed.
The event was held at the Ceremonial Hall in Malacañang Palace based on the report. It is the highest tribute for the Filipinos who are working in other countries. Here are the awards given at the event:

Currently, the Philippine government is surrounded by corruption issues. Pres. Bongbong Marcos himself was tagged by Zaldy Co in the corruption issue. According to the resigned former House member, Marcos Jr. and then-House Speaker Martin Romualdez allegedly ordered a P100-billion budget insertion in the 2025 national budget.

Aside from the supposed corruption issue, Pres. Bongbong Marcos was also recently accused by Senator Imee Marcos of allegedly using illegal drugs. The presidential sister made the same accusation against First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos.
