Kiko Barzaga Fires Back at PCG After Alleged Threats

Kiko Barzaga vs. PCG Heats Up After Explosive Threat Claims

KIKO BARZAGA – Cavite 4th District Representative Kiko Barzaga has once again made headlines after claiming he received threats from the Philippine Coast Guard, vowing that he will not be silenced.

Kiko Barzaga once again spoke out regarding the alleged threats he received from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). In a Facebook post on Friday, October 31, Barzaga called out the agency and mockingly referred to it as the “Philippine Crocodile Guard.”

“I received plenty of threats from the Philippine Crocodile Guard,” Barzaga wrote, claiming that he had been receiving intimidation from members of the PCG following his criticisms against the agency.

Kiko Barzaga then assured the public and his followers that he would not be silenced by the alleged threats. “‘Wag kayong mag-alala, di nila ako kayang patahimikin,” he added, emphasizing that he would continue to speak out despite the supposed harassment.

Barzaga also took a jab at the PCG, referencing a past incident involving China’s water cannon attack on the agency’s vessels in the West Philippine Sea.

“Water Cannon lang galing China iyak na agad sila, ako pa kaya?” the congressman remarked, suggesting that the PCG was too quick to complain about challenges it faces.

As of now, the Philippine Coast Guard has not issued any statement addressing Barzaga’s latest remarks or the alleged threats he mentioned.

This controversy follows an earlier dispute between Barzaga and PCG Spokesperson Commodore Jay Tarriela, who publicly defended the agency after Barzaga called for its abolition.

“I am compelled to respond to the misleading and inflammatory remarks made by Cong. Kiko Barzaga in a circulating video, which grossly misrepresent the Philippine Coast Guard’s mandate, operations, and the very essence of our service to the Filipino people,” Tarriela said on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

He further stated, “[T]o call for the abolition of the PCG and dismiss our existence as a ‘waste of government funds’ is both reckless and deeply insulting to the 36,000 strong of the PCG who serve this nation with honor and courage.”

The heated exchange between Barzaga and the PCG continues to spark debate online, as both sides stand firm in defending their positions.
