Sen. Imee Marcos Speaks about PBBM during INC Rally
IMEE MARCOS – The Presidential Sister accused her brother, President Bongbong Marcos, of allegedly using illegal drugs.
It is no secret to the Filipino people that the Marcos siblings are on the different ends of the political turmoil in the Philippine government. Sen. Marcos has aligned herself with the Dutertes amid the controversial arrest and the transfer of custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte as well as the issues of alleged misuse of confidential funds by Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
During the May 2025 Midterm Elections, the Senator even left her brother’s slate and campaigned independent — her departure from the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago was followed by the Vice President campaigning for her and soon, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s political party, endorsing her.
Amid the political issues, Sen. Imee Marcos previously claimed that there’s allegedly ‘nothing personal’ and ‘no family feud’ between her and Pres. Bongbong Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and former Speaker Martin Romualdez. Her remarks came amid her claims that the First Lady and the former House Speaker are allegedly the ones who are taking the lead and not her brother.
Recently, Sen. Imee Marcos joined the rally of the Iglesia ni Cristo members wherein she surprised many Filipinos with her statement. The presidential Sister claimed that her brother is allegedly using illegal drugs.
According to the Senator, they were still young then and the whol family allegedly knows about the problem with her younger brother. She claimed that then their father was still around so he was still not her responsibility.
“Bata pa lang kami ni Bongbong alam na ng buong pamilya ang problema sa kaniya… Noong tumatanda ay mas naging nakakabahala, batid ko na nagda-drugs siya,” the Senator claimed.
Sen. Imee Marcos also claimed that the name of now-Pres. Bongbong Marcos allegedly appeared in the campaign of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte against illegal drugs. Based on a post of NewsWatch on social media, the Senator believes that her brother’s alleged use of illegal drugs has contributed to his supposed “wrong decisions”.
The Senator did not directly asked Marcos Jr. to resign from the presidency but requested him to go home and be treated. Based on the post, the Senator claimed that she can afford for him to lose the presidency but she cannot afford to lose him.
“Tama na Ading ko, magpahinga na tayo. Umuwi na tayo, magpagamot, magpagaling, at nangangako ako — hindi ako malilingat, hindi ako magkukulang,” the Senator said.
The drug use accusations against the President came after Zaldy Co tagged Marcos Jr. and former Speaker Martin Romualdez in the corruption issue in the country.
