Where Is Cassandra Ong? DOJ Drops a Million-Peso Reward to Track Her Down
CASSANDRA ONG – A nationwide manhunt has intensified after the Department of Justice announced a P1-million reward for information leading to fugitive Cassandra Li Ong.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) has announced a P1-million reward for anyone who can provide crucial information leading to the arrest of Cassandra Li Ong, who is now considered a fugitive. Ong, who is facing multiple charges before the Regional Trial Court (RTC) of Pasig City in connection with the illegal operations of a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO), has eluded authorities in recent months.
During a press briefing, Acting Justice Secretary Fredderick Vida emphasized the government’s determination to locate Ong and ensure that she is brought before the court. Vida stated that the department is ready to offer a substantial reward to any individual who can help pinpoint her whereabouts, provided that the information shared is deemed trustworthy. According to him, the DOJ has allocated funds specifically for this purpose.

“Ang DOJ formally announcing P1 million reward for credible, actionable information that will directly lead to the lawful discovery, location and subsequent arrest by authorized law enforcement agent of Cassandra Li Ong, who is presently the subject of ongoing criminal proceedings before the Regional Trial Court of Pasig City,” said Vida. He added, “Itong bagay na ito, naglagak po ng kaukulang pondo ang Department of Justice para po mapanagot natin at maiharap natin sa Korte si Miss Ong.”
Vida further underscored the urgency of the manhunt, acknowledging Ong’s capacity to move and travel discreetly.

Senator Win Gatchalian recently revealed that Ong has long been out of detention, prompting renewed calls for intensified efforts to locate her. Her passport has already been canceled by the Pasig RTC, along with the passports of former Presidential Spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque and Technology Resource Center executives Dennis Cunanan, Ronelyn Baterna, and Mercides Macabasa.
All are facing human trafficking charges linked to the activities of the POGO hubs Lucky South 99 and Whirlwind Corporation.
