Drama in Thailand! Miss Universe 2025 Contestants Storm Out After Miss Mexico’s Humiliation
MISS UNIVERSE 2025 – The Miss Universe 2025 competition took an unexpected turn when several contestants walked out of a key event after Miss Mexico was allegedly insulted by a top pageant official.
Tension erupted during the Miss Universe 2025 sashing ceremony held in Thailand on November 4 after several candidates walked out of the event following an alleged verbal altercation involving Miss Mexico.
Just days before the highly anticipated grand coronation of the 74th Miss Universe pageant at the Impact Challenger Hall in Nonthaburi, Thailand, the atmosphere turned sour when the head of the host country’s organizing committee, Nawat Itsaragrisil, reportedly insulted Miss Mexico, Fatima Bosch.

According to reports, Nawat scolded Miss Mexico after she allegedly refused to join a sponsor photo shoot and agreed to participate only in the pre-pageant activities organized by Telemundo. After she explained her decision, Nawat reportedly gave her an ultimatum to either stay or leave the competition. In response, Miss Mexico chose to walk out.
Her decision was soon supported by other contestants from Latin America, Asia, and Africa, who joined her in solidarity. Among those who sided with Miss Mexico was reigning Miss Universe Victoria Theilvig, who also walked out of the ceremony.
“We have respect for everyone, but this is not how things [should] be handled. To trash another girl is beyond disrespectful,” Theilvig said in an interview.
“It’s nothing I as a girl can stand into. That’s why I’m taking my phone and I’m going,” she added tearfully.
In a viral video, Nawat could be seen calling for security assistance, but the walkout continued as more candidates exited the venue.
After the incident, the Miss Universe Thailand organization and the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) reportedly stepped in to clarify and resolve the misunderstanding. The sashing ceremony eventually resumed, though Nawat was notably absent.
The controversy comes amid an ongoing dispute between MUO President Raul Rocha and Nawat, who heads Miss Universe Thailand and is the founder of Miss Grand International. The issue has since raised concerns about professionalism and respect within international pageantry.
