Pres. Bongbong Marcos Speaks on Flood Control Mess Anew
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President spoke on those who are involved in the flood control corruption in the Philippines.
Several members of the Senate and the House of Representatives as well as officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) are accused of involvement in the supposed multi-billion flood control corruption in the Philippines. Amid the issue, Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered the creation of an independent body that will investigate the issue.

The House of Representatives stopped its flood control investigation following the creation of the ICI (Independent Commission for Infrastructure). The Senate continued with its investigation and its flood control hearing is set to resume on Friday, November 14.

However, ahead of the Senate flood control hearing’s resumption, presidential sister and Senator Imee Marcos claimed that the flood control witnesses will allegedly recant their testimonies. According to her, the witnesses were allegedly pressured and their families were supposedly threatened.
Marcos also claimed that former House Speaker Martin Romualdez allegedly backed off from being the state witness in the flood control issue. According to the Senator, her cousin will not attend the upcoming Senate flood control hearing.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos previously claimed that even Romualdez and his allies in politics will not be spared from the flood control investigation. Recently, after Vice Pres. Sara Duterte called for accountability on the corruption issues in the Philippine government, Marcos Jr. claimed that there will be no merry Christmas for those who are involved in the flood control corruption in the country.
“Alam ko bago mag-Pasko marami dito ang napangalanan dito… wala silang Merry Christmas,” the President said.

Furthermore, based on a report on GMA News, Marcos Jr. also warned the flood control culprits that the government will really run after them. He previously ordered the agencies to ensure a solid case for the conviction of those who are responsible in the corruption issues in the country.
“Tapos na ang maliligaya ninyong araw, hahabulin namin kayo,” the President said.
The statement of Marcos Jr. came after DPWH chief Vince Dizon claimed that more than 40 flood control accused may be jailed this November.
