Pres. Bongbong Marcos Mentions Wife Liza in his Speech during the 2025 Bagong Bayani Awards
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President told his wife, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, that she is allegedly part of the “Cabinet shakeup”.
Recently, two (2) members of the Marcos Cabinet, former Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin and former Budget Sec. Amenah Pangandaman, resigned from their positions. The Palace previously announced that the resignation of Bersamin and Pangandaman were out of delicadeza.
Bersamin and Pangandaman were mentioned by Zaldy Co when he accused Marcos Jr. and former Speaker Martin Romualdez of allegedly masterminding a P100-billion insertion in the 2025 national budget. According to Co, he allegedly confirmed the order the then-Executive Secretary and then-Budget Secretary who supposedly confirmed it.
Following the reported resignation of Lucas Bersamin, Finance Sec. Ralph Recto who has good words for Marcos Jr. amid the corruption issues was appointed as new Executive Secretary. He believes that the President is “too kind” to be involved in the corruption issues in the country.
Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos gave a speech during the 2025 Bagong Bayani awards. He lauded the migrant workers saying that they are the most beautiful picture or the diligence and excellence of the Filipino people.
“We still see the immense value that migrant workers have brought to their families and to our country. I am proud of all the achievements that you have made,” the President said.
During his speech, based on a post of News5 on social media, Pres. Bongbong Marcos mentioned First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos. According to him, his wife often travels to Europe and assists the Overseas Workers Welfare Association (OWWA) with its activities. He claimed that she is part of the “Cabinet shakeup”.
”She has become our ambassador now for migrant workers, it’s your new designation. ‘Di ba magka-Cabinet shakeup tayo? So kasama ka na doon…” the President said.
It is still unclear of Marcos Jr. was just joking. Currently, the President is faced with several issues. Presidential sister and Senator Imee Marcos recently accused PBBM of allegedly using illegal drugs. The Palace immediately defended the President saying that the accusation against him has supposedly long been resolved after he tested negative in a drug test in 2022.
Sen. Imee Marcos also claimed that First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos is allegedly using illegal drugs as well. She challenged the First Family to undergo a hair follicle drug test. While PBBM and the First Lady were mum on the allegations, presidential son and Ilocos Norte Congressman Sandro Marcos reacted to the illegal drug accusations of his aunt, Sen. Imee Marcos, against them.
