Malacañang Announces Order of Pres. Bongbong Marcos Among the Gov’t Agencies
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President ordered the government agencies to hold simple Christmas and year-end celebrations following a series of calamities affecting the Philippines.
Typhoon Tino greatly affected Visayas most especially the province of Cebu. The province has yet to fully recover from the strong earthquake that hit Bogo, Cebu last September 30 when #TinoPH brought one of the worst flooding in the history of the province.

The heavy rains brought by Typhoon Tino triggered the rising of floodwater and the overflowing of the dams that resulted to the level of floodwater reaching the roof of the single-storey houses. Many people climbed the rooftop of their homes to escape from the rising floodwater. Unfortunately, aside from the massive flooding, the strong winds also destroyed many homes in the province.

The death toll due to Typhoon Tino continued to rise as search and rescue operations continue. The fatalities has reached over 100 in the provinces of Cebu and Negros. Following the series of calamities causing the loss of lives and damages to properties in some parts of the country, Pres. Bongbong Marcos has an order for the government agencies as we approach the Christmas holidays.
Based on a report on The Manila Times, Malacañang announced that Pres. Bongbong Marcos ordered the government agencies to hold only simple Christmas and year-end celebrations following the series of calamities that hit the Philippines.

“Following the recent disasters in the country, President Marcos Jr. and the DBM (Department of Budget and Management) remind government agencies to keep their holiday celebrations simple,” Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro said.
According to Malacañang, the order of Pres. Bongbong Marcos is in line with remarking the holidays with compassion and awareness for those who are still rebuilding their lives after they were affected by the calamities. Based on the report, the President also ordered his Cabinet officials to visit the areas affected the calamities to ensure that the government’s assistance reaches them.
“Mahalaga ang pagdiriwang ng pasko nang may pag-aalala sa kapwa natin na patuloy na bumabangon mula sa maraming kalamidad na tumama sa bansa,” the Malacañang official said.

Based on the report, the Palace clarified that while Pres. Bongbong Marcos appreciates the traditional celebration of Christmas and the year end, he wants the government agencies to redirect their focus in helping the Filipinos who are victims of the calamities and are in need.
Amid the unfortunate situation in Cebu now, Cavite Congressman Kiko Barzaga threw an accusation against “Marcos and Romualdez” blaming them over the deaths in Cebu.
