Sen. Bato dela Rosa Speaks on SALN of Sara Duterte amid Akbayan Request
BATO DELA ROSA – The Senator spoke on the Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) of Vice President Sara Duterte amid the request of the Akbayan party-list.
After several lawmakers released copies of their SALNs to the public, the Akbayan party-list submitted a request to the Office of the Ombudsman for the release of the SALNs of Pres. Bongbong Marcos, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, former Ombudsman Samuel Martires, and the officials of the constitutional commissions. Ombudsman Boying Remulla previously lifted the restrictions on the public access to the SALN of the government officials.
Remulla issued a memorandum that reversed the rule implemented during the tenure of his predecessor, former Ombudsman Samuel Martires who retired in July. Then, the consent of the SALN owner was needed.
After lifting the restrictions on the public access to the SALN of the government officials, Ombudsman Boying Remulla called on the lawmakers to voluntarily release a copy of their SALN to the public. All 24 senators issued copies of their SALN to the public.
After all the senators and some congressmen have released their SALNs to the public, the Akbayan party-list recently submitted a request to the Office of the Ombudsman to release the SALN of Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte among others. Ombudsman Boying Remulla has yet to speak on the matter. Recently, Sen. Bato dela Rosa aired his side.
Sen. Bato dela Rosa previously disclosed his SALN wherein he declared a P32 million net worth. Based on a post of News5 on social media, on the request of the Akbayan party-list for the disclosure of the SALN of Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Vice Pres. Sara Duterte among others, the Senator said that there is no problem with it if the owner allows the record to be public.
“Kung wala kang itinatago, ipakita mo kung gusto mong ipakita,” dela Rosa said.
Sen. Bato dela Rosa is a known loyal ally of the Dutertes. With regards to the SALN of the Vice President, the Senator claimed that he will convince the Vice President to release her SALN.
“Walang problema… I-kuwan natin siya na ipakita niya,” the Senator said.
Previously, the Office of the Vice President or the OVP has spoken on the request for the SALN of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
