Andrea Brillantes Breaks Silence on Love Life & Her Challenge to Potential Suitors

Andrea Brillantes is embracing the single life, and for now, it seems she isn’t in a rush to enter a new relationship. After months of speculation, it appears her dating phase with Filipino-Jordanian former basketball player Sam Fernandez did not progress into anything serious.
Currently enjoying her independence, Andrea opened up about her priorities during an interview with ABS-CBN. According to her, she’s perfectly content celebrating the holidays as the “third wheel” within her family and close circle of friends. She emphasised that she doesn’t feel lonely at all this season. “Hindi ko priority now (ang pakikipagrelasyon. Sa family, ako na lang wheel. (Walang dyowa) but it is okay, I am happy. Masaya ako,” she shared.
When it comes to suitors, Andrea Brillantes wants someone self-assured and brave enough to pursue her wholeheartedly. She stressed that confidence is a quality she deeply values in a potential partner. “Kung na-intimidate sila, that’s not my fault. Kung gusto talaga ako, tapangan nila. Kung hindi, at least ma-short list ko,” she said, adding that she expects someone who can match or exceed her own strength. “Tapang tapang ko, dapat mas malakas sa akin,” she challenged.
Months before, Andrea openly admitted that she and Sam were going out, though she clarified they were not in a committed relationship. She reiterated that she has been single for two years and is simply open to dating—not necessarily to settling down immediately. As she explained, “Sinabi ko naman na open ako sa pag-de-date kasi two years na rin naman akong walang boyfriend. Naloloka ako kasi ang daming nagsasabi na bakit may boyfriend na raw ako agad, I’m just dating.”
Andrea Brillantes also revealed that she is currently dating someone, but emphasised that the man is a private individual. “I am dating someone right now. He’s a private person. And he’s also not a basketball player. He used to play. I’ve known him for a while. We’ve been friends for many many years,” she shared.
As fans continue to speculate about her love life, Andrea remains firm in her stance—she is happy, confident, and unbothered, enjoying life at her own pace.
