Sen. Chiz Escudero Rumored To Own Property in Luxurious Village Alphaland Baguio Mountain Lodges
Alphaland Baguio Mountain Lodges issued a statement on the rumored property of Sen. Chiz Escudero in the residential village.
The supposed multi-billion flood control corruption in the Philippines left countless Filipinos disappointed. Several senators and congressmen were tagged into the issue. Amid the mess, Ombudsman Boying Remulla restored the public access on the SALNs of the government officials and asked the lawmakers to voluntarily released a copy of the records of their assets, liabilities, and net worth.
After all 24 senators have released their SALNs, Sen. Chiz Escudero was questioned and criticized for declaring a little over P18.8 million as his net worth in his SALN. It made him the poorest among the senators in the Senate. Undeniably, countless Filipinos raised doubts on such records.
While some netizens questioned the alleged multi-million ring that Escudero gave to his wife, actress-model Heart Evangelista, there are also rumors that he allegedly owns a property at a luxurious residential village developed by Alphaland Baguio Mountain Lodges or ABML.
Sen. Chiz Escudero was criticized online. Recently, Alphaland Baguio Mountain Lodges broke its silence on the rumors that the Senator supposedly has a property in the said residential village.
The Alphaland Baguio Mountain Lodges said in its statement that no property in the said luxurious village is registered under the name of Sen. Chiz Escudero nor any of the companies associated with him. The clarification was issued by Alphaland Corporation president Dennis Valdes to GMA News Online.
“ABML, like any other residential village in the country, does not divulge a list of its residents / homeowners. However, we are able to confirm that there is no home listed as owned by Sen Chiz Escudero or any company associated with him,” the Alphaland Baguio said in its statement.
While no property is registered under the name of Sen. Chiz Escudero, based on the report, the Senator’s wife, Heart Evangelista, is a member of the Alphaland Balesin Island Club. Furthermore, based on the report, the developer confirmed that their family have occasional visits at the property.
“We are aware, however, that he and his family are occasional visitors to the property as can be gleaned from the numerous social media posts by various parties. Mrs. Escudero, being a long time member of Alphaland Balesin Island Club, is allowed the privilege to use the facilities of ABML,” Alphaland Baguio further stated.
The Senator is one of the lawmakers who are accused of allegedly receiving kickback from the flood control deals of the government. However, according to Sen. Chiz Escudero, former House Speaker Martin Romualdez is allegedly the mastermind behind the flood control accusations against the senators.
