Nadia Montenegro Breaks Silence: Files Cases Against Media & Senate Employee

Nadia Montenegro Fights Back Amid Drug Allegations

NADIA MONTENEGRO – Actress and former Senate staffer Nadia Montenegro has officially filed cases against several media outlets and a Senate employee following allegations linking her to illegal substance use.

What began as a blind item has escalated into a full-blown controversy involving actress-turned-political staffer Nadia Montenegro. The issue stemmed from allegations that a staff member of a senator was caught smoking an illegal substance inside the female’s comfort room. Soon after, speculations pointed to Montenegro, who was then working for Senator Robin Padilla.

Following the circulation of reports, Montenegro released an official statement dated August 13, as cited by ABS-CBN News. “I vehemently deny that I am the staff of the senator mentioned in those articles,” the actress firmly declared.

Nadia Montenegro also clarified that she could not have been in the restroom in question at the time. “It was likewise suspecting that the alleged ‘male’ staff of Senator Lacson would say that I was the only one in the ladies’ comfort room when he should have no personal knowledge of that unless he entered and used the ladies’ comfort room at that time,” she emphasized. Montenegro explained that she had used the PWD restroom instead.

Despite her denial, the controversy intensified after an incident report was shared online, leading to widespread public scrutiny. Montenegro later resigned from her Senate position, expressing disappointment over the situation. The Office of Senator Robin Padilla confirmed her resignation, noting that she had previously been placed on leave due to the “Mary Jane” allegations. The actress has consistently denied the claim, insisting that what she was using was a vape.

Seeking to clear her name, Montenegro took legal action on October 1 by filing a complaint against several media outlets at the Caloocan Prosecutor’s Office. She also announced plans to pursue charges against a Senate employee in connection with the spread of the accusations.

As the case progresses, Montenegro remains steadfast in defending her reputation, stressing that the allegations have caused not only professional but also personal damage. The issue has sparked discussions on accountability, due process, and the dangers of unverified claims gaining traction online.
