Chavit Singson on Marcos Jr.: “Kung may delicadeza siya, dapat mag-resign siya”

Former Ilocos Sur Gov. Chavit Singson Speaks on Pres. Bongbong Marcos Anew

CHAVIT SINGSON – The former Ilocos Sur Governor expressed his belief that the President should resign if he has “delicadeza”.

The supposed flood control corruption in the Philippines brought thousands of Filipinos on the streets to protest last September 21. In fact, several showbiz celebrities joined the rally dubbed as the “Trillion Peso March” to call for an end to corruption. Many Filipinos also called on Marcos Jr. to hold the responsible ones behind the issue accountable.

Several senators and congressmen are linked to the flood control probe. Both the House of Representatives and the Senate have changed in leaderships after their respective leaders were tagged in the supposed multi-billion flood control corruption. Senator Chiz Escudero was ousted and replaced by now-Senate Pres. Tito Sotto following his P30-million campaign donation from a contractor.

The contractor linked to Sen. Chiz Escudero claimed that the P30-million campaign donation came from his own pocket. Escudero is also accused of allegedly receiving a P160-million kickback by former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Undersecretary Roberto Bernardo.

Presidential cousin and Leyte Congressman Martin Romualdez resigned from being the House speaker amid the flood control accusations against her. According to Romualdez, he wants the Independent Commission for Infrastructure to be able to freely and fully exercise their mandate to investigate.

The ICI was created upon the order of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Amid the speculations and criticisms that accuse Marcos Jr. of involvement in the flood control issue and the calls for his resignation, Malacañang previously stressed that it was the President who divulged the corruption. However, as for former Ilocos Sur Gov. Chavit Singson, Marcos Jr. is allegedly part of the problem over the supposed flood control corruption.

Recently, former Ilocos Sur Gov. Chavit Singson spoke on Pres. Bongbong Marcos anew. Based on a post of News5 on social media, the former Ilocos Sur Governor who endorsed Marcos Jr. in 2022 called for his resignation.

“Kung may delicadeza siya, dapat mag-resign siya. Dahil… it’s his command responsibility. Lahat ng gulong ito nanggaling sa mga tao niya eh,” Singson told One News for “The Long Take”.

Furthermore, based on the post, Chavit Singson claimed that the youth allegedly has no future already and Marcos Jr. should resign. According to him, the cover-ups allegedly continues if he won’t step down.

“The only way, for delicadeza, mag-resign dahil wala nang kinabukasan ang mga kabataan. Tuloy-tuloy ‘to, takipan,” the former Ilocos Sur Governor said.
