Bong Go on Charges Filed by Trillanes: “Hindi po ako magnanakaw. Hindi po ako kontraktor”

Sen. Bong Go Breaks Silence on Plunder, Graft Charges vs. Him, Duterte

BONG GO – The Senator and long-time ally of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte reacted to the charges filed against him by former Sen. Antonio Trillanes.

Amid the flood control issue in the Philippines, former Sen. Antonio Trillanes filed plunder and graft charges against Sen. Go and former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte before the Office of the Ombudsman. Also among the respondents in the cases are the father of Sen. Go, Deciderio Lim Go, and his brother, Alfredo Armero Go.

Trillanes claimed that the closeness of Duterte and Go has allegedly influenced the granting of the supposed multi-billion worth of infrastructure projects to the family of the now-Senator. The former lawmaker also cited the joint venture of the CLTG Builders, the construction firm owned by Go’s father, with the construction firm owned by Curlee and Sarah Discaya.

The Discayas are among the contractors tagged in the alleged anomalous flood control deals funded by the government. Previously, when Ombudsman Boying Remulla expressed his belief that the Discayas are possibly protecting him, Sen. Bong Go denied it saying he does not know the contractors. According to him, he does not care if charges will be filed against them.

Furthermore, Go claimed that he is willing to be the complainant of case even if the accused is his family member who has done something wrong. According to him, he stands for accountability and he is one of the Filipinos in calling for an end to corruption.

Recently, following the charges of plunder and graft being filed against him and former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte by former Sen. Antonio Trillanes, Sen. Bong Go claimed that the former Senator is allegedly “barking at the wrong tree”.

“Kung seryoso ka talaga, bakit mo, bakit di mo kasuhan yung mga totoong mga corrupt talaga? Bakit di mo kasuhan yung mga financiers mo, yung mga contractor,” the Senator said based on a report of ABS-CBN News.

Sen. Bong Go also hit back at former Sen. Antonio Trillanes by accusing him that his supposed goal is to protect his financiers and those who are behind the alleged black propaganda against him and Duterte. He believes that the move of the former Senator is allegedly a “diversionary tactic” to divert the attention of the public.

“Hindi po ako magnanakaw. Hindi po ako kontraktor. Senador po ako na nagseserbisyo lang po sa ating mga kababayan Pilipino. May delikadesa po ako. Yung prinsipyo ko po sa buhay, yan lang po ang pwede kong pangalagaan sa ngayon. Pangalan ko po at hinding-hindi ko sasayangin yan,” Go said.

Based on the report, Go also claimed that Trillanes was already allegedly damaging his name even before he ran for senator in 2018. According to him, in 2024 before his bid for re-election, the former Senator also supposedly did the same. Meanwhile, the long-time ally of former Pres. Duterte assured that he will cooperate with the investigation and abide by the legal process.

Aside from Go, Ombudsman Boying Remulla also believes that the Discayas are allegedly possibly protecting the Villars.
