BINI Maloi Shares Her Struggles & Strength After PCOS Diagnosis

BINI MALOI – P-pop star Maloi Ricalde recently opened up about her emotional journey with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), revealing how the diagnosis became one of the most challenging moments of her life.

BINI member Maloi Ricalde recently shared an emotional revelation about her health in the latest episode of BINI World Tour Stories, an iWantTFC series that follows the P-pop girl group behind the scenes of their performances and personal journeys. In a heartfelt moment, the singer opened up about being diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), a condition that affects women’s hormones and reproductive health.

Upon her doctor’s examination, Maloi was informed that she had polycystic ovaries—something she described as her “greatest fear.” Overcome with emotion and comforted by her mother, she admitted, “Sabi ko, mawala na cellphone ko, iPad ko, lahat ng mga material things ko, ’wag lang ako magka-PCOS. Ganun ’yung thinking ko.”

Despite her positive outlook, the young performer confessed that the diagnosis deeply affected her. “Ang sad lang kasi as someone na nanggaling sa malaki at masayang pamilya, syempre nakikita ko na sarili ko na, ‘Ah, someday, ganito. Gusto ko rin ng ganito,’” she shared.

Still, Maloi remains determined to stay strong and care for herself. “‘Di naman ako napanghihinaan ng loob… optimistic ako… [pero] may lungkot din sa part ko and ’yun ’yung kailangan kong tanggapin, mas kailangan ko alagaan ’yung sarili ko,” she added.

The singer also took the opportunity to encourage other women to be proactive about their health. “‘Yung mga ganitong procedures, may malaking impact siya sa life mo and makakatulong siya sa’yo and sa future mo,” she advised.

She emphasized how their group prioritizes health and wellness, saying, “We take our health seriously,” and shared that they had all recently received vaccinations against cervical cancer. As she wisely concluded, “Prevention is better than cure.”

Through her openness, Maloi continues to inspire fans by reminding them that even in the face of health challenges, self-care, awareness, and optimism remain powerful acts of strength.
