Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto Reacts To Recent Claims of Discaya Couple during Senate Hearing
VICO SOTTO – The Pasig Mayor claimed that the Discaya couple is allegedly “angling to become State Witness” so they won’t be jailed.
The issue of anomalous flood control projects in the Philippines has greatly hooked and disappointed countless Filipinos. Amid the heat of the issue, two (2) contractors rose to prominence above all the other contractors whose names were dragged into the issue — Curlee and Sarah Discaya.

The Discaya couple was initially known to be the owners of the Alpha and Omega General Contractor & Development Corporation. However, during one of the hearings set by the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, Sarah Discaya admitted that they own nine (9) construction companies. According to her, she was part-owners of some of some of those construction firms.

Sarah Discaya also admitted that there were instances when her 9 companies bid for the same projects of the DPWH or the Department of Public Works and Highways. According to Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada, it is allegedly an “illegitimate bidding” if it was the case.
According to Discaya, they own 28 luxury cars. Those vehicles were immediately placed under the custody of the Bureau of Customs after the Senate flood probe.

Recently, both Curlee and Sarah Discaya appeared the Senate inquiry over the anomalous flood projects funded by the government. The couple claimed that they allegedly had no choice but to join the supposed “system” of giving commissions to some congressmen and DPWH officials so they can push through with their projects for their family and their employees.
The Discaya couple also dropped names of the people who allegedly received money from them. Their joint affidavit shocked countless people. However, as for Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto, the Discayas just allegedly want to be a State Witness to get away from imprisonment.

“Obviously there are congressmen, DPWH officials, and contractors who are guilty. But the Spouses Discaya are clearly angling to become STATE WITNESS. Para di sila makulong. We know they are capable of lying (just go back to their campaign period videos and posts),” the Pasig Mayor stated in his post.
Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto also stated in his post that he noticed a lot of alleged inconsistencies in the statement of the Discaya couple. In his post, he cited one of the alleged most obvious lie of the controversial contractors:
“Sabi ni Mistermind Curlee “2-3% lang” ng contract cost ang kita nila kada project.. “swerte na” daw kung 5%. Sa ibang project lugi pa daw sila (wow)
Taliwas ito sa statement nila sa isang interview, kung saan sinabi nilang bilyonaryo sila at nasa “11 digits” na daw ang pera nila. Meaning AT LEAST ₱10 BILLION… Dahil PAANO KA MAGIGING BILYONARYO NA GANUN SA 2-3% PROFIT?” Sotto said.
In his post, Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto also stressed that it was Pres. Bongbong Marcos himself who really saw the ghost project of the Discaya couple. He called on the Filipino people not to get fooled by the recent actions of the Discaya couple.
“Sinong gagawa ng ganun kalaking krimen para sa 2-3% na kita? Wag tayong magpauto sa mga paawa effect nila… Wala daw silang magawa?? he stated.
In their joint affidavit, the Discaya couple named Quezon City Representative Arjo Atayde as one of the congressmen who allegedly receives money from them.
