TYPHOON OPONG UPDATE – Amid the tropical storm in the country, PAGASA raised the storm signals no. 1,2,3 and 4 in these areas.
Currently, several areas in the Philippines are experiencing heavy rains and strong winds. Countless Filipinos are advised to monitor the weather updates issued by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration or PAGASA. Storm signals are up in several areas across the nation.

As of 5:00 a.m. today, September 26, 2025, the Typhoon Opong update from PAGASA stated that the storm is now over Masbate and has weakened into a severe tropical storm. It was spotted at Palanas, Masbate at 4:00 a.m. with a sustained winds of 110 kph and gustiness of up to 150 kph.

According to PAGASA, Typhoon Opong will continue to move in the westward direction and is expected to cross Masbate, Sibuyan Sea, southern CALABARZON, and northern MIMAROPA. The storm is expected to reach the West Philippine Sea late Friday or early Saturday and to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Saturday afternoon.
