Pres. Bongbong Marcos turns 68 today. Several members of the Marcos clan penned heartfelt messages for PBBM on his special day. First Lady Liza Marcos, in her birthday message for Pres. Marcos, called him her “partner in everything” and expressed her gratitude for their adventures and her love for him.

Aside from First Lady Liza Marcos, presidential cousin and House Speaker Martin Romualdez also gave a message for Pres. Bongbong Marcos in his 68th birthday today. Based on a report on News5, the House Speaker stressed that he is deeply honored to work alongside Marcos Jr.

According to House Speaker Martin Romualdez, the leadership of Pres. Bongbong Marcos has inspired unity and resolve at the time when the Philippines is faced with both trials and chances. He claimed that every Filipino allegedly feels the direction of the country and his concern in every step under the “Bagong Pilipinas”.

“Mr. President, your leadership has inspired unity and resolve at a time when our nation faces both challenges and opportunities. Sa bawat hakbang ng Bagong Pilipinas, ramdam ng bawat Pilipino ang direksyon at kalinga na inyong itinataguyod,” the House Speaker said.

House Speaker Martin Romualdez, as Pres. Bongbong Marcos celebrates his 68th birthday, reaffirmed the commitment of the lower chamber in working alongside the executive department under Marcos Jr.’s lead. Based on the report, the Speaker stated that the House and the Marcos administration will work together in securing that the laws passed address the Filipino people’s needs.

“On this special day, the House of Representatives reaffirms its commitment to being your reliable partner in governance. Together, we shall ensure that laws passed under your administration truly address the needs of our people and secure a legacy worthy of future generations.” Romualdez said.

Despite the country facing a lot of problems now including the issue of anomalous flood control deals, Pres. Bongbong Marcos claimed he has no regrets on being president of the country. He considers the presidency as a privilege and an opportunity for him to do something.

However, House Speaker Martin Romualdez is one of the government officials mentioned by the Discayas in their testimony over the flood control issue. During a Senate hearing, controversial contractors Pacifico and Sarah Discaya made claims that accused several government officials of allegedly receiving kickbacks from government-funded flood control projects.

Amid the issue, several members of the House of Representatives affirmed their support on House Speaker Martin Romualdez. Some members even clarified that the chamber is “solid” and “there is no change in leadership”.

Recently, the chief communications officer of House Speaker Martin Romualdez even claimed that the Speaker is not filing charges against his accusers over the flood control issue for now claiming that the allegation supposedly remains a “hearsay”.
