Duterte’s Former Spokesman Harry Roque Speaks on Last Wish of Ex-President
HARRY ROQUE – Duterte’s former Spokesman claimed that the former President has aired his last wish of dying in his home in Davao City.
For six (6) months, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte remains under the International Criminal Court (ICC) detention in The Hague, Netherlands. The Duterte family members and relatives are taking turns in visiting the former Chief Executive inside the ICC detention center.

Duterte is faced with three (3) counts of murder as “crimes against humanity” filed by the ICC prosecutor. Supposedly, the confirmation of charges hearing was set on September 23 but the former President’s lawyer, Nicholas Kaufman, claimed that Duterte is allegedly “not fit to stand trial”. The ICC postponed the confirmation of charges hearing.

Kaufman also expressed his hope that the Marcos Jr. administration will allow the return of former Pres. Duterte in the Philippines for his interim release. It was in August when his camp renewed their application for the interim release of the 80-year-old former Chief Executive.
The ICC prosecutor opposed the interim release plea of Duterte’s camp saying that the continued detention of the former President is allegedly necessary. Previously, when the interim release application was first filed in June, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that not allegedly all the needs of her father can be provided inside the ICC detention facility.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte stressed that the former President can now be considered a “super senior” citizen. The Vice President recently claimed that the Philippine Embassy officials allegedly entered the ICC detention facility through a supposed disguise of a “welfare check” and interviewed the former President. She also claimed that they allegedly sent a report to Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
Amid the ICC detention of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte, his former spokesman, Harry Roque, claimed that he has already expressed his last wish before his death. Based on a post of Abante on social media, Duterte’s former Spokesman claimed that the former President said he wants to go home to his house in Davao City and die there.

“Ang gusto ni Tatay Digong five minutes bago siya pumunta sa Panginoon ay makabalik doon sa kanyang kwarto, bahay Kalapati sa Davao at doon mamatay. ‘Yun lang ang gusto niya. Mamatay sa sarili niyang bayan dahil siya’s otsenta na man. Huwag na tayo magpaligoy-ligoy, naghuling habilin na si Tatay Digong. Handa na siya,” Harry Roque said based on the post.
Amid the pending arrest warrant against him filed by a local court in the Philippines, Harry Roque remains in The Hague, Netherlands as an asylum seeker. Amid the flood control mess in the country now, Roque claimed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos allegedly needs to resign and let Vice Pres. Sara Duterte take over.
