Cherry Pie Picache & Edu Manzano: From Lovers to Friends, w/ No Plans of Looking Back

Cherry Pie Picache Opens Up on Edu Manzano: Friends Forever, But No Rekindled Romance

CHERRY PIE PICACHE – Actress Cherry Pie Picache has candidly spoken about her current relationship with former flame Edu Manzano, saying they remain close friends but have no plans of rekindling their romance.

Cherry Pie Picache has made it clear that while she and ex-boyfriend Edu Manzano remain close and on friendly terms, a romantic reunion between them is not on the horizon. The two actors, who first dated about two decades ago, rekindled their relationship in 2021. However, they parted ways once more after two years, though the separation was far from hostile.

During the media conference of The Last BeerGin in Quezon City, Picache emphasized that she and Manzano continue to have a strong bond even after their breakup. “Okay na kami, hindi naman kami nag-away or anything. Maayos,” she said, noting that the lack of conflict made it easy for them to preserve their friendship.

She further explained, “Na-maintain ang friendship kasi hindi naman kami nag-away, he’s a good man. Maayos kami, walang away.”

Their renewed closeness sparked buzz in August when the pair was spotted dining together at a restaurant in Marikina. Picache clarified that the meeting was their first in more than two years, even though they had kept in touch through messages. “After two years and a half, nagkita na kami, okay naman, we’re good friends. Hindi lang siguro nagkakataon na nagkaroon ng chance na magkita,” she shared.

For the actress, it was simply a pleasant reunion. “I’m just happy. I’m happy to see him, I’m happy that he’s well. I’m happy that everything is fine with him. I think that he’s also happy for me that everything is going on well sa life ko. We’re happy for each other.”

Still, Picache was straightforward when asked about the possibility of reconciling romantically with Manzano. “Wala (No),” she said, adding that her former partner is even supportive of her meeting someone new. “He has a girlfriend and [we’re] growing up, may sarili siyang buhay, so gusto niya siguro na may makasama rin ako, may maging katuwang ako.”

On her own love life, the veteran actress shared, “I’m single. I’m ready to mingle. God has been very good to me. I don’t have any complaints, but it would be nicer [if I have someone]. I’m not actually dating, hindi ako mahilig makipag-date (I’m not fond of it), but I’m not closing my doors. If I meet someone, but I like going out in groups.”

Picache will next be seen in The Last BeerGin, alongside Xyriel Manabat, Zaijian Jaranilla, Pepe Herrera, and JC Santos. The film is penned by Mel Mendoza-Del Rosario and directed by Nuel Naval.
