Former Sen. Bong Revilla Speaks on Alcantara’s Claim during Senate Flood Probe
BONG REVILLA – The former Senator denied the accusation that he allegedly received flood control kickbacks as per former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bulacan District Engr. Henry Alcantara.
The Senate continued its investigation on the flood control mess in the Philippines. During its most recent probe, for the first time, former DPWH Bulacan District Engr. Henry Alcantara presented his testimony amid the speculations and accusations that hurled several government officials of flood control corruption.

During the Senate flood probe, former DPWH Bulacan District Engr. Henry Alcantara said that he is already worried over the safety and welfare of his family so he will cooperate with the investigation. According to him, he was previously mum on the issue as he allegedly wanted to protect the agency.
In his testimony, Alcantara surprisingly linked former Sen. Bong Revilla to the flood control scam. The former Senator is another addition to the list of government officials who are facing accusations of allegedly receiving kickbacks from the flood control projects of the government.

Those who are already in the list of the said government officials hurled with flood corruption accusations include Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co, Pasig Congressman Roman Romulo, former House Speaker and Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez, Quezon City Cong. Arjo Atayde, Marikina Cong. Marcy Teodoro, and senators Jinggoy Estrada and Joel Villanueva.
The other accusations were made by dismissed DPWH engr. Brice Hernandez who named Estrada and Villanueva. Others accused such as Co, Romualdez, Atayde, Teodoro, and Romulo linked by controversial contractors Pacifico and Sarah Discaya to the issue. They were also present at the Senate hearing.

Following the claims made by DPWH Bulacan District Engr. Henry Alcantara, former Sen. Bong Revilla broke his silence on the issue. Based on a report on GMA News, the actor-turned-Politician denied the accusation saying he has nothing to do with the flood control mess.

“I deny. Wala po akong kinalaman diyan. I have nothing to do with any of that,” Revilla said.
Amid the flood control mess in the country, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has recommended filing charges against Rep. Zaldy Co, former DPWH Undersecretary Roberto Bernardo, former Bulacan District Engineer Henry Alcantara, former Representative Mich Cajayon-Uy, and senators Jinggoy Estrada and Joel Villanueva.
During the recent Senate flood probe, Sen. Erwin Tulfo claimed that the Filipino people is allegedly above the law as he insisted that the money of the people should be returned by the contractors and the government officials who are involved in the anomalous flood control projects.
