Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Meets “DDS Europe” Before heading to The Hague
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President met with the supporters of her family in Paris, France from Kuwait before heading to The Hague, Netherlands.
Since the arrest of her father, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, in March, Vice Pres. Duterte has been to several countries abroad. She also keeps on coming back to The Hague, Netherlands for her father who is currently detained under the custody of the International Criminal Court.
Former Pres. Duterte is faced with an allegation of crimes against humanity before the ICC over his administration’s war on drugs. Amid the criticisms over her frequent overseas trips, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that the Filipino communities abroad are “frustrated”. The Office of the Vice President also stressed that no public funds are used in all the overseas trips of Duterte.
With regards to the impeachment case against the Vice President, the Senate has ruled to archive the impeachment case against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Nineteen (19) senators voted in favor of the motion of Senate Blue Ribbon Committee chairman Rodante Marcoleta to archive the impeachment case against the Vice President, four (4) senators opposed the motion, and Sen. Ping Lacson abstained from the voting.

The ruling of the Senate came after the Supreme Court declared the articles of impeachment against Vice Pres. Duterte as “unconstitutional” for not following the one-year rule. Several motions for reconsideration were filed before the high court seeking for the reversal of its verdict.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s lawyer recently confirmed the filing of comment on the MR filed by the House of Representatives before the SC. Currently, the Vice President is out of the country. The OVP previously confirmed Vice Pres. Duterte’s travel in Kuwait but stressed that it’s authorized and no public funds were allegedly used in all the trips of the Vice President abroad.
After her itinerary in Kuwait, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is set to return to The Hague, Netherlands for her father. Based on a post on Inquirer, on her way to The Hague, the Vice President made a quick stop in Paris, France to meet the supporters of her family in Trocadero.
The supporters of the Duterte family in Trocadero called themselves “DDS Europe”. Based on the post, the Vice President was warmly welcomed by her Filipino supporters in Paris.
Following her claim that the Filipinos abroad are allegedly filled with frustration over what is happening in the Philippines, Malacañang hit back at Vice Pres. Sara Duterte over the remarks on her frequent travels abroad.
