Pres. Marcos Jr. Names Contractors on Top of Most Flood Control Projects of PH Gov’t
MARCOS JR – The President revealed that 20% of the total P545-billion flood control projects in PH was awarded to 15 contractors.
Amid his frustration over the failed flood control projects in the Philippines, Pres. Bongbong Marcos made some revelations like as to the total spending of the government on these projects as well as naming the contractors who got a significant percentage of the projects.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos revealed that the government has spent P545 billion in its flood control projects from July 2022 to May 2025. He admitted that for him, it is an “enormous” amount. According to the President, a total of 9,855 flood control projects were done from the said amount but it was not specified the exact structures built or repaired.

Marcos Jr. also revealed that the National Capital Region (NCR) has the highest spending for its 1,058 flood control projects worth P52.57 billion followed by the Region III spending P98.01 billion for its 1,617 projects. Region V spent P49.61 billion for its 866 projects.

Furthermore, the President also claimed that several projects in different locations have the same contract cost despite the differences in the terrain. Recently, based on a report on GMA News, Marcos Jr. also disclosed that 20% of the total P545 billion budget spent for the flood control projects was awarded to 15 contractors.
”This is another disturbing assessment, statistic: 20% of the entire P545 billion budget napunta lang sa 15 na contractor. Sa 15 na contractor na ‘yan, lima sa kanila ay may kontrata sa buong Pilipinas. Keep going. Ayan. Ito na ‘yung listahan,” Marcos Jr. said.
