Pres. Bongbong Marcos Gives Message on National Heroes Day Celebration 2025

MARCOS JR. – The President led the National Heroes Day ceremony at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City.

Today, September 25, is one of the regular holidays listed in the list of Philippine holidays 2025. Being a regular holiday for the celebration of the National Heroes Day, classes in all levels in schools across the Philippines are cancelled today.

Furthermore, work in both the public and private sectors are also suspended today to give way for the celebration. A National Heroes Day celebration was held at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City and the event was led by Pres. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Marcos Jr. gave a message for the National Heroes Day celebration. Based on a report on GMA News, in his message for today’s event, the Chief Executive called on the Filipinos to fight against corruption and abuse of power in the society.

“Kailangan din nating labanan ang banta ng katiwalian at pang-aabuso ng kapangyarihan sa ating lipunan,” the President said.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos added that corrupt individuals and those who abuse their power are not only stealing the Filipinos’ money. According to the President, they are also stealing the health, dreams, and the future of the next generations.

“Dahil hindi lamang salapi ang kanilang ninanakaw, kundi pati ang kalusugan, pangarap, at kinabukasan ng mga susunod na henerasyon na Pilipino,” Marcos Jr. said.

Based on the report, the President cited that as Filipinos, we have the obligation to our country to be more critical of the wrongdoings around us. He also stressed that we have the responsibilities to expose fraud and to stand up for what is right event when it is not an easy thing to do.

Marcos Jr. honored the “Visayan Joan of Arc”, Teresa Magbanua, in his speech for the National Heroes Day. Based on the report, the Chief Executive stressed that the hero fought against the oppressions by the Spanish colonizers. He also honored the unsung heroes who helped fight for the freedom of the nation.

“Ngayong Araw ng mga Bayani, binibigyang-pugay natin ang mga Pilipinong hindi naisulat ang pangalan sa mga pahina ng kasaysayan ngunit naging mitsa at apoy na bumuhay sa ating kasarinlan,” the President expressed.

Based on the report, this year’s National Heroes Day celebration’s theme is , ‘Isang Diwa, Isang Lahi, Isang Bayanihan’ (One Spirit, One Race, One Bayanihan). According to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), this year’s theme gives emphasis to the bravery of the Filipino heroes, both known and unsung.

Amid the President’s call for fight against corruption, with the allegedly anomalous flood control projects in the different areas across the nation sparking headlines now, Pres. Bongbong Marcos launched the Sumbong sa Pangulo website and he vowed to read the reports personally one-by-one.
