Malacañang Announces Order of Pres. Bongbong Marcos for “Lifestyle Checks”
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President ordered “lifestyle checks” amid the investigation on the anomalous flood control projects in the different areas in the country.
Ten officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways or DPWH-Bulacan district were placed on “floating status” amid the several ‘ghost’ and ‘substandard’ flood control projects in the province. Marcos Jr. was left disappointed to find out that several “paid” projects of the government are not existing.

In Bulacan, Pres. Bongbong Marcos was left “not disappointed but angry” over the P55-million ‘ghost’ Riverwall project in the province. Reportedly, the receipts showed that the said project was “fully-paid” by the government and was marked completed but there was nothing when the President arrived at the area.

Aside from the said ‘ghost’ Riverwall province in Bulacan, Pres. Bongbong Marcos also called out the contractor of another flood control project in the same province over an alleged “incomplete” structure made of “substandard” materials. Divers were hired to check on the flood control structures and it was found out that the cement was too thin, thus, it failed to serve its purpose.
Marcos Jr. called out the St. Timothy Construction to explain their work. The firm is one of the 15 contractors flagged by the President in a press conference wherein he revealed that they got 20% of the P545-billion flood control projects of the government from July 2022 to May 2025.

According to Pres. Bongbong Marcos, here are the 15 contractors that were awarded with 20% of the P545-billion flood control projects of the government:
- Legacy Construction Corporation
- Alpha & Omega Gen. Contractor & Development Corp.
- St. Timothy Construction Corporation
- QM Builders
- EGB Construction Corporation
- Topnotch Catalyst Builders Inc.
- Centerways Construction and Development Inc.
- Sunwest, Inc.
- Hi-Tone Construction & Development Corp.
- Triple 8 Construction & Supply, Inc.
- Royal Crown Monarch Construction & Supplies Corp.
- Wawao Builders
- MG Samidan Construction
- L.R. Tiqui Builders, Inc.
- Road Edge Trading & Development Services
Marcos Jr. also claimed that his administration will probe five (5) contractors that have secured government flood control deals in almost all regions across the nation. They are the EGB Construction Corporation, the Legacy Construction Corporation, the St. Timothy Construction Corporation, the Alpha & Omega Gen. Contractor & Development Corp., and the Road Edge Trading & Development Services.
Recently, Malacañang announced that Pres. Bongbong Marcos ordered the “lifestyle checks” of the DPWH officials and everyone involved in the anomalous flood control projects in the country. Based on a report on GMA News, Palace press officer undersecretary Claire Castro stressed that the order is in line with the investigation.

Based on the report, Pres. Bongbong Marcos also stressed the need for a continuous checking of all the records of the DPWH regarding the anomalous flood control deals. According to the Malacañang press official, the lifestyle check will begin among the officials of the DPWH involved in the controversial projects.
When asked on who will lead the said lifestyle check of all involved in the anomalous flood control projects, the Palace said it would depend on the agencies. Based on the report, Atty. Claire Castro also said that the Office of the Ombudsman and the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) may also conduct lifestyle checks.
The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee is also investigating the allegedly anomalous flood control projects in the different areas in the country. The next probe is set on September 1. According to Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada, he will really move for the arrest of the contractors who will skip the Senate flood hearing again with an “unacceptable” reason.
