Pres. Bongbong Marcos Speaks on Growing National Budget
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President promised that the government will slowly bring down the multi-trillion debt of the Philippines.
It is not a surprise anymore to the Filipino people that the national debt of the Philippines continues to take an upward trend. In fact, many Filipinos have already calculated how much each person owes if the national debt will be divided among the current population of the country. Undeniably, this situation has saddened many people.

The Pres. Bongbong Marcos focused on the accomplishments and plans of his administration during the Marcos SONA 2025. Marcos Jr. also claimed that he will not sign budget proposals that are not in line with the government plans. Meanwhile, during his latest podcast interview, the Chief Executive talked about the debt of the Philippines.

The PH debt has reached P17.27 trillion which comes with an increase of 11.5% or equivalent to P1.78 trillion since June 2024. Meanwhile, during his podcast interview, the President assured that the borrowed fund is being used to generate more jobs for the Filipino people and to invest in enhancing the skills of the Filipino laborers.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Pres. Bongbong Marcos promised to slowly bring down the national debt. He expressed his confidence in achieving it as long as the money of the people is being used in the right way.
“Dahan-dahan mapapababa natin ‘yan. Slowly we will bring it down. Basta’t ‘yung pera ng Pilipinas ay ginagamit sa tamang paraan,” the President said.
Furthermore, Pres. Bongbong Marcos explained that the fund allotted for the building of classrooms but really be used for the said purpose and the project must not be compromised. Based on the report, he believes that the national debt will be slowly brought down if the officials will not be pocketing the public fund for the projects.
“‘Yung perang nakalaan para sa ganitong – para sa classroom ginamit talaga sa classroom. Hindi nakalagay doon dalawang classroom, ginawa lang isang classroom. Binulsa na ‘yung natira,” Marcos Jr. said.

According to the President, if the government will really be strict and will use the public funds in the right way, we will benefit from it. Based on the report, he also urged the Filipinos to not only focus on the debt of the country but as well as the assets and the training of the people.
Previously, during a podcast interview, Pres. Bongbong Marcos expressed his stand that “somebody has to answer” to the sufferings of the Filipino people.
