Bongbong Marcos on ‘Sumbong sa Pangulo’ Reports: “Ang isusulat ninyo, ako mismo ang babasa”

Pres. Bongbong Marcos Speaks on Sumbong sa Pangulo Website for Flood Control Projects Reporting

BONGBONG MARCOS – The President vowed to personally read the reports sent to the “Sumbong sa Pangulo” website.

Pres. Marcos is visibly disappointed by the failure in many of the flood control projects of the government. During his 4th State of the Nation Address, he claimed that he personally visited to see the flood control projects amid many areas in the country left in deep flooding by the Southwest Monsoon and the tropical storms.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos also recently revealed that the government has spent at least P545-billion already since July 2022 for the flood control projects. He stressed that it is an enormous amount and he’s surprised when he found out that 20% of the government deals on the flood control was awarded to the same 15 contractors.

The Legacy Construction Corporation, the Alpha & Omega Gen. Contractor & Development Corp., the St. Timothy Construction Corporation, the Road Edge Trading & Development Services, and the EGB Construction Corporation were allegedly the 5 flood control project contractors with government deals in almost all regions in the country.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the President wants St. Timothy Construction to explain the incomplete and substandard flood control project in Bulacan. As part of the pursuit to solve the flooding problems in the country, the Sumbong sa Pangulo website was launched.

Through the Sumbong sa Pangulo website, the public can send reports about the flood control projects in their areas. Pres. Bongbong Marcos called on the Filipinos to exercise our civic duty to report to the government what we see is wrong.

“We need everyone involved because 80 million, 90 million pairs of eyes are better than all the eyes in the entirety of government… It is exceedingly important that people get involved,” he said.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos vowed that he will personally read the reports sent to the Sumbong sa Pangulo website. Just a couple of days since the website was launched, Malacañang revealed that the website has already received over 1,000 reports.

“Ang isusulat ninyo sa report, ako mismo ang babasa. ‘Yan ang asahan ninyo: babasahin ko bawat isa,” the President said.

Following the press con of the President, Senate Pres. Chiz Escudero admitted receiving a P30-million campaign donation from one of the flood control project contractors cited by the Chief Executive.
