Pres. Bongbong Marcos also maintained that education remains on top of the priorities of the government. According to him, more classrooms will be built in the remaining three (3) years of his term and the government will digitize the schools through efforts such as extending SMART TVs. He also vowed for extra pay for teachers who do overtime work and for those with an excess workload.

However, aside from the accomplishments and the promises of the Chief Executive, Pres. Bongbong Marcos also admitted that many flood control projects in the country have failed after he personally went around to assess them. The country was recently hit by several storms and the Southwest Monsoon which left deep flooding in several areas across the nation.

According to Pres. Bongbong Marcos, a total of 9,855 flood control projects were funded by the government in the past three (3) years. Based on the report, the Chief Executive stressed that 6,021 projects were worth over P350 billion. However, it was not specified if flood control structures were built or just repaired or rehabilitated.

Marcos Jr. also revealed that the initial findings showed that several flood control projects in different areas across the nation have the same contract cost which could mean having the same design, lengths, and materials despite the differences among the locations.

Based on the report, Pres. Bongbong Marcos got the list over the flood control projects from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). The National Capital Region (NCR) has the highest spending on the flood control with 1,058 projects worth P52.57 billion followed by Region III with 1,617 projects worth P98.01 billion, and Region V with 866 projects worth P49.61 billion.

Previously, following the 2th State of the Nation Address of the President, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano reacted to Marcos Jr.’s mention of failed flood control projects in his SONA 2025.
