Malacañang Speaks on Pres. Bongbong Marcos amid “Lifestyle Check” Order
BONGBONG MARCOS – Malacañang announced that the President is ready for a “lifestyle check” as well as the showing of his Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth or SALN if needed.
Amid the issue on the alleged anomalous different flood control projects of the government, Marcos ordered a “lifestyle check” among all the government officials. The Palace previously announced that the said “lifestyle check” will begin in the officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways.

The Public Works department or DPWH is currently in the center of controversy following the discovery of several ‘ghost’ and ‘substandard’ flood control projects in the different areas in the country. In Bulacan, 10 officials of the DPWH-Bulacan district were put under “floating status” amid the flood control projects issue. They were ordered to explain.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos was left “not disappointed but angry” over the P55-million ‘ghost’ Riverwall project in Bulacan. The project was marked completed and the receipts showed that it was fully-paid by the government but the Chief Executive arrived to nothing there. He also called out St. Timothy Construction Corporation over another flood control project in the province that was reportedly incomplete and ‘substandard’.
The said contractor is one of the 15 contractors flagged by the President. According to him, 20% of the total flood control projects of the government from July 2022 to May 2025 were awarded to the same 15 contractors.

Marcos Jr. previously revealed that the Philippines has already spent P545-billion for the flood control projects in the country from July 2022 to May 2025. According to him, here are the 15 contractors which were awarded with 20% of the said projects:
- Legacy Construction Corporation
- Alpha & Omega Gen. Contractor & Development Corp.
- St. Timothy Construction Corporation
- QM Builders
- EGB Construction Corporation
- Topnotch Catalyst Builders Inc.
- Centerways Construction and Development Inc.
- Sunwest, Inc.
- Hi-Tone Construction & Development Corp.
- Triple 8 Construction & Supply, Inc.
- Royal Crown Monarch Construction & Supplies Corp.
- Wawao Builders
- MG Samidan Construction
- L.R. Tiqui Builders, Inc.
- Road Edge Trading & Development Services
Amid the issue, several government officials expressed support on the call of Marcos Jr. for a lifestyle check among the public officials. Even Vice Pres. Sara Duterte agrees to Marcos Jr.’s ‘lifestyle check’ order among the government officials but stressed that it should be in-depth.
Senate Deputy Minority Leader Risa Hontiveros also agreed to the ‘lifestyle check’ order of Marcos Jr. but dared him to show his own SALN as a good example and leadership of his mandate. Recently, Malacañang announced that the President is ready.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Malacañang press officer undersecretary Claire Castro announced that all the officials under the executive branch including Pres. Bongbong Marcos are ready for a “lifestyle check”. Furthermore, the Palace official also confirmed that the President is ready to show his SALN if needed.
“Lahat po ng miyembro ng ehekutibo ay ready, pati ang Pangulo. Kaya po ready ang lahat, kasama ang SALN… Pagka nagkaroon, mauna o mahuli man ang Pangulo, kasama po yan… Kung kinakailangan,” the Palace official said.
Previously, presidential sister and Senator Imee Marcos also reacted to the order of her brother, President Bongbong, for a “lifestyle check” among the government officials.
