BETTY LA FEA – Two decades after winning hearts around the globe, ‘Betty La Fea’ is back to explore what happens after the fairy tale fades.

The beloved Colombian telenovela Betty La Fea is making a highly anticipated comeback with its second season, more than 20 years after it first captivated audiences worldwide. Titled “Betty la Fea: La Historia Continua,” the sequel promises a deeper look into the lives of its iconic characters, particularly the once-perfect couple, Betty and Armando.

Once seen as the ideal fairytale couple, Betty and Armando now face a turning point marked by separation and the possibility of reconciliation as their romance picks up again in the second season of “Betty La Fea.”

The original 1999 series became a global phenomenon, spawning adaptations in several countries. In the Philippines, its dubbed version gained a loyal following, and a local remake starring Bea Alonzo further cemented its popularity. In the U.S., Ugly Betty—starring America Ferrera—offered an American take on the story.

Now, viewers are invited to revisit this enduring love story in the sequel, which explores the complex realities of life after the fairytale ending. “Set more than 20 years later, it follows Betty — now a successful professional and mother — as she secretly rekindles her relationship with Armando after their public divorce,” reads the show’s synopsis.

Returning to reprise her role as Beatrice “Betty” Pinzon Solano is Ana Maria Orozco. Jorge Enrique Abello also returns as Armando Mendoza, her former husband and once-great love.

The sequel brings back other familiar faces from Ecomoda, the fashion company that served as the original series’ main backdrop. Among them are Marcela Valencia, Armando’s ex-fiancée, and her glamorous best friend Patricia Fernandez, portrayed again by Lorna Cepeda.
