Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Hits Marcos Admin’s Efforts Towards Flooding Problem in PH
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President reacted to the remarks of Pres. Bongbong Marcos amid the problem about flooding in several areas in the Philippines.
The continuous heavy rainfall in the Philippines due to the tropical storms and the Southwest Monsoon or the Habagat has caused flooding in several areas across the nation. Pres. Bongbong Marcos has just returned to the country from the United States but he was monitoring the situation in the nation while he was away.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos even ordered the immediate suspension of the preparations for his 4th SONA or State of the Nation Address and instructed the government agencies to focus all their efforts in helping the Filipinos affected by flooding. First Lady Liza Marcos also went out and distributed “Charitimba” amid the wish of her “bossing” to be in the country so he can help his fellow Filipinos.

Aside from the relief operations of the different government agencies, Pres. Bongbong Marcos claimed that the floodwater can be collected in preparation for the dry season in the country. His statement earned a reaction from Vice Pres. Sara Duterte amid their ongoing rift.

It is no secret to the public that the relationship between the President and the Vice President have turned sour. From being running mates in the 2022 Elections, she is no longer part of the Marcos administration now and has continuously thrown tirades against the government.
Based on a report of GMA News, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte hit the efforts of the government in addressing the flood problem in the country saying that the floodwater can allegedly be collected and delivered to Malacañang for Pres. Bongbong Marcos to drink.
“Ipunin po natin lahat tapos edeliver natin sa Malacañang para po may mainum siya,” Duterte said.
The Vice President also disagree with the building of a facility in Zambales which is part of the defense cooperation between the Philippines and the United States. The President believes that it can help the country become self-reliant in terms of defense. However, based on the report, the Vice President raised the “independent foreign policy”.
“Ang nakalagay sa ating Saligang Batas noh, na mayroon tayong dapat independent foreign policy kung iyong ginagawa ng gobyerno ay kumikiling sa iisang bansa lang, ibig sabihin nun wala na tayong true independent policy,” she said.
Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has been throwing shades against Pres. Bongbong Marcos and the administration again. Aside from previously accusing the Marcos admin of allegedly having no plan for the country, the Vice President also believes that there was allegedly collusion in the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte believes that the Marcos admin and the International Criminal Court (ICC) allegedly used each other in her father’s arrest for their own benefits.
