Change in Venue for PNP Chief Nicolas Torre-Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte Possible Boxing Match
PNP CHIEF – Philippine National Police chief Police General Nicolas Torre III claimed that they already have sponsors for his boxing match with Davao City acting Mayor Baste Duterte.
National police chief Nicolas Torre III accepted the “fistfight” challenge of Davao City acting Mayor Baste Duterte. The youngest son of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte claimed that Torre is allegedly brave because of his authority but he can beat him on a fistfight.

PNP chief Nicolas Torre III proposed their fight to be a charity boxing match with the proceeds to be given to the victims of the typhoon and flood. According to him, he sees the challenge of Duterte as an opportunity to help the typhoon and flood victims.

Torre initially proposed their “charity boxing match” to be held at the Araneta Coliseum at 9:00 o’clock on Sunday. According to him, it does not matter with him if there is not much time to prepare for the match nor if Duterte has prepared for it.
The PNP Chief claimed that there is “nothing personal” on his part in accepting Duterte’s challenge. He also expressed his belief that their charity boxing match won’t hurt much. He wants to have 12 rounds with a sponsor per round so they collect a huge amount of money for the victims of flood and the typhoon.

However, the recent pronouncement of the son of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte seemingly lessened the chance for their boxing match to push through. Davao City acting Mayor Baste Duterte, in his reaction to PNP Chief Nicolas Torre accepting his “fistfight” challenge, laid down his own conditions.
According to Mayor Duterte, he wants Torre to ask Pres. Bongbong Marcos to order all the government officials to undergo a drug test. He agreed to have a charity boxing match if it is done.
Recently, despite the remarks of Davao City acting Mayor Baste Duterte, PNP chief Nicolas Torre III claimed that preparations are ongoing for their charity boxing match at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum. Based on a report on Inquirer, Torre claimed that they already have sponsors.
“The Rizal Memorial Coliseum is already set. A ring is already being set up there for Sunday. It’s up to him. Whether he shows up or not, we already have sponsors who said they were donating relief goods for those affected by the heavy rain and the flood,” Torre said.

Torre previously had some boxing practice at the PNP gym. Recently, the PNP Chief was also spotted jogging under the rain as he prepares for a possible boxing match against Davao acting Mayor Baste Duterte.
