Disbarred Lawyer Larry Gadon Worries Over Baste Duterte, Wants To Be Referee
LARRY GADON – The Presidential Adviser for Poverty Alleviation volunteered to be a referee in the possible boxing match between Philippine National Police chief Police General Nicolas Torre III and Davao City acting Mayor Baste Duterte.
PNP chief Nicolas Torre III has accepted the “fistfight” challenge of Davao acting Mayor Baste Duterte. He wants it to be a charity boxing match as he is willing to donate his share from the funds that will be raised to the victims of the typhoon and flood in the country.

According to PNP chief Nicolas Torre, accepting Duterte’s challenge is “nothing personal” on his part. He stressed that he just sees it as an opportunity to help the victims of typhoon and flood. He wants their match to consist 12 rounds so they can gather a huge amount of money.

Furthermore, Torre also wants a sponsor for each round to ensure that they raise a huge amount of funds from the boxing match. He also claimed that not having much time to practice for the boxing match is not a big deal for him as he expects that the match won’t hurt a lot considering that it is only a charity match.
However, Davao City acting Mayor Baste Duterte laid down his “own conditions” for a boxing match with PNP chief Nicolas Torre III. He wants the PNP Chief to ask Pres. Bongbong Marcos to order the drug testing of all government officials in the country.
Amid the speculations and doubts on whether or not the Torre-Duterte charity boxing match will happen, there are some individuals who have volunteered to play a role in the said match. One of them is Presidential Adviser for Poverty Alleviation Larry Gadon,

Larry Gadon, a disbarred lawyer who serves as the Presidential Adviser for Poverty Alleviation under the Marcos administration since 2023, claimed that he is worried over Davao City acting Mayor Baste Duterte, thus, he wants to be a referee in his possible boxing match against PNP chief Nicolas Torre. Based on a post of PhilStar on social media, he believes that the PNP Chief has the capacity to leave Duterte injured.
“Kung sakaling matuloy ang exhibition match na charity boxing fight ni Gen. Torre at ni Baste ay nagvo-volunteer ako na maging referee because I’m worried that Gen. Torre might inflict a catastrophic injury on Baste. Dahil ‘yang si Gen. Torre, astig ‘yan at mayroong iniinum ‘yan na energy drink, coffee,” he said.
Larry Gadon further claimed that PNP Chief Nicolas Torre III might be carried away by his emotions. Based on the post, he wants to volunteer to be the referee of the Torre-Duterte boxing match so he can easily stop them from inflicting serious injuries.
“Ako ay nagwo-worry diyan kay Gen. Torre baka ma-carried away siya at ah masobrahan ang pagsusuntok niya kay Baste at ayoko naman na magkaroon ng serious injury diyan dahil ito naman ay isang sports game lamang. Maganda nga ang layunin ni Gen. Torre astig na ito ay gawing charity fight,” Larry Gadon said.
PNP chief Nicolas Torre III claimed that they already have sponsors for his possible boxing match with Davao acting Mayor Baste Duterte. According to him, a ring is being set now at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.
