Sen. Imee Marcos Confirms BSKE Bill Transmitted To Palace
IMEE MARCOS – The presidential sister and Senator called on her brother, President Bongbong Marcos, to sign the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election or BSKE Bill.
Sen. Marcos visibly sided with the Duterte family over the controversial arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. Thus, it was no longer a surprise for the Filipinos when Sen. Marcos mentioned the Dutertes in her proclamation speech but her brother, Pres. Bongbong Marcos. She even launched a Senate investigation over the former President’s arrest and submitted her findings to the Ombudsman.

Despite her recent moves, Sen. Marcos claimed that she and the President allegedly never fight. Her statement came after she left the senatorial slate of the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago endorsed by the Chief Executive.

Currently, there are no updates nor hints if Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Sen. Imee Marcos are in good terms now. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Senator recently called out her brother to sign the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election Bill or also popularly called the BSKE Bill.

Under the BSKE Bill, the officials of the barangay and the Sangguniang Kabataan will have a four-year term. The same measure will also set the next local elections in November 2026. Sen. Marcos confirmed that it was already transmitted by the Senate to the Palace.
“Ayan na! Na-transmit na sa wakas kay PBBM! Ang tagal bago makarating, parang tumambay pa kung saan. Kaya, bekenemen, pirmahan na ‘yan!” the presidential Sister said.
Based on the report, Sen. Imee Marcos also expressed her doubts on why it took so long for the BSKE Bill to get to Malacañang. She stressed that the work in the Senate were long done.
“Sa pagkakaala ko, hindi karaniwan ang ganitong katagal. Wala ring sapat na paliwanag kung bakit natagalan nang husto. Sa totoo lang, matagal nang tapos ang trabaho sa Senado,” she said.
It was last July 10 when the BSKE Bill was transmitted by the House of Representatives to the Senate on July 10. Five days after, the measure was sent to Malacañang. Pres. Bongbong Marcos has 30 days to sign or veto the bill. Based on the report, Sen. Imee Marcos stressed that the barangay and SK officials deserve to know how long they will be in their position.
Furthermore, the presidential Sister also stressed that it does not matter if Pres. Bongbong Marcos will sign the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Election Bill or not. According to her, what is important is that the BSKE turns into a law.
Previously, amid the doubts on their relationship, Sen. Imee Marcos claimed that she prays that Pres. Bongbong Marcos will be back into the right path.
