Before flying to the United States, Pres. Bongbong Marcos has given his go signal to the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) to declare class suspensions in case of bad weather conditions. Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla previously sought an authority to make class suspensions citing that a centralized system will pave the way for an order to avoid the students and the people getting caught under a heavy rain or amid the flooding due to a delayed announcement.
However. DILG Sec. Jonvic Remulla and Laguna Governor Sol Aragones were recently criticized for allegedly being “unprofessional” over the announcements made. The Interior Secretary has already apologized over the matter.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos also defended the style of Remulla in making posts about the class suspensions due to the impacts of the Habagat in the country.
