U.S. Pres. Donald Trump Meets w/ Philippine Pres. Bongbong Marcos
DONALD TRUMP – The American President criticized the previous administration in the Philippines during his meeting with Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos flew to the United States for a scheduled meeting with its President. His meeting with Trump came a week before he is set to deliver his 4th State of the Nation Address or SONA which is scheduled on July 28.

However, amid the onslaught of the Southwest Monsoon or the habagat in the Philippines, Pres. Bongbong Marcos has ordered the immediate suspension of all the preparations related to SONA. He wants all efforts to be directed in helping the victims of flood across the nation as well as relief operations.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos was expected to discuss important issues with U.S. Pres. Donald Trump like the tariffs for the Philippine and U.S. goods. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the U. S. President has good words for the Filipino leader saying that it is a great honor for them to have Marcos Jr. which he described as “a very respectable leader”.

U.S. Pres. Donald Trump also expressed admiration for the Marcos family, their legacy, and the respect of the Filipino people towards the Philippine President. Based on the report, the U.S. President claimed that he knows about it as he has many friends in the Philippines.
“It’s a great honor to have President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. of the Philippines. Great family, great family legacy, and highly respected in his country. I know that because I have many friends in the Philippines,” he said.

U.S. Pres. Donald Trump congratulated PH Pres. Bongbong Marcos for the respect that his people has for him. According to him, they will be talking about trade as well as war and peace. He stressed that his country has “some fantastic military relationships with the Philippines”.

Unexpectedly, based on the report, U.S. Pres. Donald Trump also had a remark about the previous administration in the Philippines. Without citing which administration he is referring to, he claimed that the previous admin in PH allegedly “didn’t know what they’re doing”.
“I think I can say that the last administration was not getting along with them too well. They didn’t get along with anybody,” the American leader said.

Based on the report, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte has previously threatened to scrap the Mutual Defense Treaty between the United States and the Philippines. The former President is currently detained in The Hague, Netherlands as he faces an accusation of crimes against humanity before the International Criminal Court (ICC) over his admin’s war on drugs.
The Duterte camp believes that the ICC and the Marcos admin allegedly colluded in the arrest of the former President. Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos is “not a weak leader” but he allegedly pretends to be kind and different from his father.
